okay so, this is my first tablet ever, I have a mytouch 3g slide phone that i tinker with all the time so im not completely new to this.

Every time I try to install a driver a message pops up saying "driver not intended for device" i am currently running windows 7 on this computer and i've double checked everything i could possibly double check and i cannot figure it out.

anyway i can fix this? any help would be much appreciatedSmile

Almost certainly you have a 64bit version of Win7 and you are pointing the driver install to the driver directory at which point it tries To install the 32 bit driver (or it could be the direct reverse). Keep burrowing down and you'll find 32 bit and 64 bit directories, just point it to the correct one.

After trying many variations of ArcTools and not getting Market place, and then when I did I couldn't see any of the major apps, Facebook, Twitter etc, I tried the steps as detailed in post 155, http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/arnova-10-g2/arnova-10-g2-improved-custom-firmware-update/page-6/#p1457, and now I have a fully functioning 10 G2, with all the apps I need and what seems to be the full Marketplace.

Awesome work finless.

To all:

I installed the rooted firmware saturday and I had no issues at all.

All files needed are in finless zip (at least for windows os-ses, don't know about other os-ses).

Make sure you follow the read me in the zip and post 155 in this thread.

I really think finless did an awesome job!

Hi Bob !

Thank you for this custom firmware. I haven't try it yet but as i can read by all the post the ROM is great. Maybe i'll wait your new ROM (because you fix some issues and add more memory system) and not installing the actual 1.1 or not :P.

But i have a question for you. It said that :

- 459mb of storage space for installing applications, this almost doubles previous firmwares.

You doubles the previous internal memory of the previous firmware.

But why didn't you give more storage space for the installing application like 1Go, 1.5Go or more?

I know that some have 2.8Go (4Go) or 6.8Go (8Go) available but if we use only 500Mo,  the 2.3 Go left will be for what? only storage ?.

Ok but isn't it better to store in SD card memory than in the device and dedicate the most part of the memory device to internal memory (space for the installing application).

I just suggest to give the most appropriate part of the memory to the system not all because having a little part of storage memory in the device is great too (maybe 50/50 or 70/30).

But i'm little noob and maybe the hardware can't allow but i'm not sure.

And I don't really understand why the origine internal memory has only 256mo for apps. It limit the number of app.

Anyway i heard you said that you are going to add more memory to the system i don't know how much but i'll see.

Thank you for your VERY GOOD JOB Bob !!!

I tried to increase it more but the system would not boot after.  I even tried doing it in proper chuncks of 128, 256, 512, 1024, etc... I think the Kernal would need to be modified to get more which I am not capable of doing yet.  In the paramter file is where you set user space.  If you want to play with it I explain in another post how to calculate the offsets.

I tried it on my new Arnova 10b G2 and it will freeze and cycle on a calibration screen.  Now what could I do to reverse or get it going.

Ok I am just tried again and thought I would write what Steps I have taken

1) Run RKAndriodTool v1.29 (on Stock ROM)

a) Erase IDB again

2) Installed Finless Rooted ROM v1.1

Link Here : /assets/firmware/Arnova10G2/arn10g2-23-1_1.zip

3) Gone through Startup Wizard

4) ERASE NAND and then Privacy Factory Reset

5) Setup Wi-Fi

6) Installed ArcTool v0.57

Link Here : /blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/com.arctablet.arctools057.apk

7) Used ArcTools to install "Default Apps & Market 3.4.4 (root Install)

8) Turned off & on

9) Loaded Market app and added account

10) Downloaded my new APPS! 🙂

Just wanted to say thanks to Finless this ROM is awesome 🙂 makes the Device so much faster so not even taking into Account Market its awesome.

Plus thought people may want to use the steps I took above

I've done a fresh reinstall of the rom as I realised I'd installed V1, it's all working fine except for the market only showing a couple of apps, wondering if it's to do with not following step 4 of the tutorial as I didnt know how to do it, any advice ?????

I believe the 10b is a resistive screen and thus the drivers for the screen are different and the screen wont work with my ROM!  However since your not bricked and it booted I could make a rooted ROM for you.  Do you have an update.img for the 10b?

Confirming that Finless Custome root does work with the Arnova 10 g2 (philly Tablet).

Did you follow the instructions per 155?  I am dying to root my Philly Tablet and this looks like the ticket.  Delighted you met with success.  Any other tricks to our version?  (I know to copy the Philly Inquirer and Daily News apps from \system\data before flashing, I don't really care about anything else bundled with the tablet).

im not so sure if there are any other tricks to our philly tablet. it appears to be just like the other Arnova 10 g2 with the exception of The papaer apps. if i do find anything else out i will be sure to pass it along

Yeah it will be Step 4 is what you need to do although don't worry you don't need to completly start over.

Just means you need to do 1 or 2 things more first.

1) In ArcTools 0.57

1 a) Click "Remove Apps"

1 b) Click "Select All"

1 c) Click "Remove Selected"

1 d) Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications (select All on the top) > Uninstall  Market (if it is there)

1 e) Do a complete shut down (on off button)

2) Now for the (step 4 above)

2 a) Settings > Storage > Erase NAND flash

2 b) Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset (this will turn it all off and restart the machine)

(now go back to steps 5 onwards)

-----

5) Setup Wi-Fi

6) Installed ArcTool v0.57

I hope this does it for you
