So anyone reading this please think twice before using this firmware. I spent already more than 2 days trying to solve it and not luck yet.

Hi All
Just to let you know that further to my previous post when I kept getting error 25 from ArcTools when trying to install the market, after installing a few apps from APKs that I downloaded and then trying again a few days later, it worked OK - I don't know why, but I'm very happy thank you Bob.

With regards to thinking twice before using the firmware, the firmware if fantastic and nobody else has achieved what Bob has achieved with this. The problem seems to be with Arctools that is installed separate from the firmware. You can still install apps from Appslib as a temporary measure until you get it working.
I am sure many people have had problems with getting the Market working, but many users have including myself managed it with no problems, but I do agree it seems to be a bit hit and miss for some people.

okay so, this is my first tablet ever, I have a mytouch 3g slide phone that i tinker with all the time so im not completely new to this.
Every time I try to install a driver a message pops up saying "driver not intended for device" i am currently running windows 7 on this computer and i've double checked everything i could possibly double check and i cannot figure it out.
anyway i can fix this? any help would be much appreciated

Yes I have done that several times, CLEAR CACHE and CLEAR DATA, then trying to get back into Market and same result. I don't know why market was installed as a system app that CAN NOT BE REMOVED or Uninstalled, I even Re-installed Market version 3.4.4 alone and it let me but it asked me that I was re-installing a system app. Anyways I don't see any solution to this problem yet, and the bad news is that many apps like Maps, Navigation, Location, and many others needs the Market installed and working in order to function.

It is very important that after you cleared the cache and data (or even reflash), you install market through arctools.
After install, immediately reboot your device. When it starts up, the google initial setup will start and you will be able to logon to google and the market.

I have been looking in to this rom for while now and how to make it customizable ie transparent status bar and i have deodexed the rom and now can be themed on uot kitchen http://uot.dakra.lt/ will pass on how to deodex the rom to finless so he can add it to the next rom update if he wants to

Hello all,
This is my first post so a massive thank you for the firmware and all the hard work you must have put in.
I am having the same problem with the marketplace where it states "IT COULD NOT ESTABLISH A RELIABLE DATA CONNECTION WITH THE GOOGLE SERVER". I have been following the advice but to no avail. I have ARCTOOLs 0.60 and installed the rootless version of marketplace. I have also tried clearing the data and cache.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Rocketero, so while you say my ROM is bad.... Go try to get the market without it. Same thing. Don't blame my ROM for your market troubles seriously!
So if you have spent the time to READ.... Are you using Arctools .60? Or .57? This has been explained several times IN THIS POST by people that have been successful. Getting market installed and working is not a function of my ROM. It can be done as I and many others have explained SEVERAL TIMES over and over.... I myself have done it at least 30 times in all the flashing and testing I have done.
Sheesh....... Maybe YOU should think twice before posting and know WHAT your talking about FIRST..... PLEASE go back to the stock ROM and learn your tablet first maybe.... THEN maybe come back with your frustrations, spend some time to READ, and maybe then you will GET IT....

OK I am going to repeat myself and post this again just to be CLEAR to people that are not getting it.
On the stock ROM /system was a READ ONLY file system. The recovery tools, factory reset, erase NAND, etc all work based on this fact. UNDERSTAND that ANYTHING you do to /system is not erased by these tools as they never expected /system to be written to!
UNDERSTAND THIS! If you have installed 14 versions of the Market, etc and expect "factory reset" to clear these mistakes out...... IT DOES NOT! Even the base level recovery system DOES NOT erase your screw ups that you have applied to /system.
Now PLEASE READ AND COMPREHEND.... The ONLY way.... REPEAT ONLY WAY to clear out /system so you can start again fresh.... is to use the tool I supplied with my ROM and do an EraseIDB and reflash.
I hope I am clear this time!
When you root your ROM and don't understand what is happening at a base level, please don't go blaming others for your troubles! I REPEAT..... If you are lost and stuck... EraseIDB and reflash!!!!
OK ok..... too much coffee this A.M.... I am going to go watch the Rose parade and calm down a little 🙁

I have followed every step word for word
the only issue i am having so far is that whenever i try to install the driver software it keeps saying "error: driver is not intended for this platform" i am running windows 7.
can anyone help?

Read every post in this topic, took a few notes, and thought i'd give it a go
Wonderful, everything went exactly as it was supposed to
Didn't have a google account, tried to make one on the Arnova but it would not compute! so made one on the computer instead, signed in on the Arnova and grabbed a few apps from the Market.
Great Rom and many thanks to all who explained what and what not to do

Great to hear sollutions1.... Enjoy...
FYI I have created a new ROM and Admin is working on a new Arctools to try and make this process easier. My new ROM will give more room in /system. No other changes. I have completed the ROM already. Admin is testing it now and working on a new release of Arctools to help solve some of the issues people are having installing Market.
In the mean time as you see, if you follow instructions and take your time, you are successful as many others have been already. I am not sure we can ever make it fool proof but hopefully the next release of Arctools will help. Alas, there will always be some that have problems.
I wish I could figure out the driver install issues some are having but alas since I can touch their PC, I cant help... 
Hmmmm..... That just gave me an idea.... Maybe some "remote assistance" through windows I can help some folks with driver issues.
Shoup.... you willing to do a "remote assistance" session?

I'm sorry if I offended you in any way; you see when I bought this tablet the first thing I considered was being able to use the market, and when I saw your ROM that said that in the title then I took the plunge. you don't know how hard is for an old man to hold a needle (I tried a clipper but didn't fit in the reset hole) for 3 minutes and finally connect it to the pc in order to flush it? Anyways it was kinda hard knowing beforhand that if I had installed several time the market prior to flush it the end resault was having a non-working market. I used Applibs, Amazon Market, and did search for the apk's that I needed in the notorious sites like megaupload, filesonic, and the many other alike.
I will give up for now, I'm sending this tablet to my daughter in another country and she has just bearly knowledge of computers and don't need much of the stuff I installed in it.
Thanks for your efforts though and any others that are developing these ROM's as it solved many problems for many ppl here.
