Looks like this is coming along nicely. i was happy with the Arnova OTB (for 99.00 what do you expect), but now i'm more happier. it runs more smooth then ever. Thanks for your time and work you put into this Finless. i'm looking forward to the coming days and weeks to see what else can be done.

Everything flashed very well. The only issue I had was trying to sign into google when launching the market for the first time. I got and error...
"This could be a temporary problem or your phone may not be provisioned for data services."
Maybe Google is just having issues???

This happens sometimes especially when registering the device with google the first time.
1) Go into manage apps in settings. Click at the the top the ALL button so you see all apps not just downloaded.
2) Find Google Service Framework and click on it. Click the clear data button
3) If you installed GMail do the same for that. clear the data.
4) Now power off BEFORE trying to run any app.
It should work on next power up.

Hey finless,
i don't mean to hijack your thread by saying the following : you might wanna take a look over at cyanogenmod it seems theyve made a tool to cusromise roms i have a dutch article here, you might want to translate it first 😉

because of the great cyanogen community it would be nice to see a cyano build for this tablet, I dont know if you're feeling like it or not, but since you made this rom i thought you might be interested on sharing this over there at cyanogenmod.com
Hereby I don't mean that your build isn't good or anything, but it might be very interesting to have a cyanogenmod for this device, and you could get a lot of help over there aswell 🙂 I'm not in to the whole rom building thing but i might get into it if ot would help you and the other people here 🙂

Only thing I have noticed on v3.4.4 of Android Market and some other apps (IMDB comes to mind) is that the colours aren't correct - see below.
The top header bar should be white text on grey background according to other pictures.
Anybody know how to change this or what could be causing it?

Uloga, well that will be far beyond my linux or programming capabilities! While I may have figured out how to hack the ROM, making new kernals, building drivers, ect etc etc is way beyond what I can do today and I am not sure I want to spend the time to come up to that kind of level. Sorry....
Also I think everyone is wanting ICS eventually and I keep reading rumors that Arnova may supply a new ROM with ICS. We shall see. If they do I am sure I will be able to root it fast unless they mess with the cramfs file structure like they did on the 7G2. Lets hope they don't!

Any chance of the cifs.ko kernel module being made available for this rom? that way we can use cifs manager to mount samba shares on our networks and stream videos/music in the native apps

Hi Bob,
Do you compile the kernel? if so was there an option for samba/cifs in there? if so thats the part that needs to be enabled and then it should create a cifs.ko module when you compile the kernel. Also just so I know its worth flashing your rom at the moment - are you likely to release another version within the next week? reason for asking is that I have 4 to flash and dont fancy having to do them again any time soon to get the latest features

No I do not compile the kernel... Heck not sure if I even could! Is the sources even available for this tablet's kernal? I know under GNU or whatever EULA..... they have to make it available but I doubt it is... Chinese companies do not always follow the rules.
Yes there maybe a chance I come out with a new ROM as I will be working with admin to either make more space in /system or some mods to enable Arctools to install easier. I am not sure at this point honestly since my ROM works and arctools 0.57 also works. I would say that if you already know how to flash my rom and install Market, then you may not even need my new rom if I do one.

Ok i have installed your rom and all looks good however i have noticed in the market that loads of apps are missing i.e dolphin browser, es file explorer etc - any idea why? I am using market 3.44

Are you using a launcher like ADW EX or ADW Launcher? If so, I have the same issue mate 😉

I have noticed an issue with youtube though, not sure if its rom related but i see no video when i run youtube!? - anyone else get this?
