Youtube app works fine.  Install the latest from the Market.  If your watching youtube from your browser, again GET Dolphin Browser HD.  The stock browser is junk.  Also last note on this issue….. get Flash Player 10.3.  DO NOT INSTALL 11.x.  It is not stable on this platform.  10.3 works.

Folks these are not ROM issues.  You should be making a new post for this stuff or using a post that reflects your issues like the “bugs in Arnova” post or something.  This post is already polluted with stuff that has nothing to do with ROMs.  Some poor sap that wants to flash the ROM and is having issues is going to have to read through all this junk.  Image if that was you right now?  Lets try to keep a little more organized.

YEP, that means you updated the Adobe Flash in normal market lol, I too have learned it the hard way.

Uninstall Flash, go to appslib and install the latest Adobe Flash from there.

Word of advice, do not set that particular app to update from market automatically.

Finless, so far so awesome ;)

Made someone so jealous playing 720p and 1080p videos better than on their Acer Iconia A500 tab hehe

I posted it on this page further up …. to do the RKAndriod Tool download Finless ROM (below) unzip it and read the text file named “READ ME”

1) Run RKAndriodTool v1.29 (on Stock ROM)

a) Erase IDB again

2) Installed Finless Rooted ROM v1.1

Link Here : /assets/firmware/Arnova10G2/arn10g2-23-1_1.zip

3) Gone through Startup Wizard

4) ERASE NAND and then Privacy Factory Reset

5) Setup Wi-Fi

6) Installed ArcTool v0.57

Link Here : /blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/com.arctablet.arctools057.apk

7) Used ArcTools to install “Default Apps & Market 3.4.4 (root Install)

8) Turned off & on

9) Loaded Market app and added account

10) Downloaded new APPS! :)

Absolute knock out mate! It works like a charm and I swear it runs better and the WiFi is working far better than the stock, might be just me though, LOL!

Something for you Mac users ( and Linux too ).

I only have an iMac running OSX. I tried to run Windows 7 in BootCamp and it crapped out on me, so in order to run this heres what I did. I actually used Oracle’s VirtualBox VM software and I built a Windows XP SP3 ( using Tiny’s XP SP3 ISO ) VM system. I then installed the RK29 flashing drivers. I plugged the Arnova10G2 into the Mac ( direct into the back not via a USB hub ) then it showed up through the VM! I then took a big chance and started the flashing…it worked perfect it occasionally dropped off the VM, so I simply reconnect it via the VM interface USB control.

Finally when the Arnova rebooted I nearly passed out holding my breath, then the funky green boot screen flashed up and I was over the moon!!!

It is possible to flash the Arnova unit via VirtualBox ( probably VMWare too ) although it’s most likely not recommended but I can confirm it works if you are on Mac OSX or Linux.

Cheers!

This is brilliant staff! Thanks to Finless and Bob. The expanded internal memory for Apps installation is a great bonus, I can now install loads of apps.

However, there are some issues I would like to report.

One – After installation my 8gb Storage has turned into a 6.20 GB one! Is this expected?

Two – The Camera does not seem to work. I had to reboot a few times and only then the camera would work. Skype does not work with video, does not show video from the other end and also does not capture my video.

Three – Battery back up is a lot efficient than the original rom.

Anyway a big thanks for this good work and look forward to the next release!

I had the same thing happen. I wish I knew how but I logged into Market, pulled a few apps down, rebooted and logged back into the Market it seemed to update itself automatically. So all I can confirm it can update it itself but I wish I knew how?!
