The flashing and reset process should just take a few minutes, probably about 5-6 minutes.
Can you check that you supplied the latest firmware on the Rockchip tool ?
http://arnovatech.com/support/updates.html?country=us&lang=en&p=2

I am not too sure about a memory error, as you can see the firmware transfer in Rockchip tool verifies the data on the device before confirming the upgrade was successfull.

Just came back after letting it sit for over a half hour; still a screen full of garbage. Yup, that's the image file I tried as well. I redownloaded "stock" from Arnova and tried a reflash, since at least that part I seem to be able to finally nail. RockFlash always returns a 1 (success), the unit always shows flashing data and cache, counts down to reboot, comes back up either: (1) Stock ROM: Arnova logo and inch of garbage at the bottom of the screen; locked up; or (2) Rooted ROM: colorful screen full of nonsense. On pin reset (after allegedly successful flash): (1) Stock gets me the Arnova logo and an inch of nonsense at the bottom; unit locked up; (2) Rooted gets me the Arnova logo, then eventually a screen full of garbage; unit locked up. In both instances, the unit will not turn off, and pin reset simply restarts it. Very frustrating. Over the same period of time I flashed my phone with two different ROMs! Going to call PNI. I think it's a bad unit.

I have installed the custom rom with market and root for my arnova 10 g2.

However, my device cannot reconzie the micro sd card and thus the card could not be mount.

What I could check for this ? (e.g sd card format?) or is it the issue with the custom rom?

Thanks

Hi I got a question. I noticed there is only 256mb allocated for applications. I assume that was the case before we ran this firmware? In any case, I was wondering if there are any tools to allocate more space for apps. I have already ran out.

Tryed to flash with this custom firmware, in blog sayed "While booting, some garbage lines may be displayed on screen after the Arnova logo, it is a normal, this little glitch comes from Htcmania’s firmware." But in my case these garbage lines displayed every time my Arnova 10 G2 booted and they stayed and nothing goes. Have somebody faced such problem?

Yep.  That's what happened to mine (a Philly Newspaper version).  I'm sending it back to Arnova for a replacement.

A replacement which I will *not* attempt to root.  I'm guessing they've done something to the firmware to lock it down tight.

Hi

Just tried to root my Arnova 10g2. I followed all the instructions, installed arctools, again followed the instructions but got 'error 28 cannot create temporary directory' and 'error 20 file copy failed'.

Any idea where I went wrong.

Thanks

Do you have to install arctools after installing the custom firmware to get the Android market?

Also can the original firmware be installed back on the tablet in case of warranty issues etc.

Thankyou for your great work cant wait to install it! [Image Can Not Be Found][Image Can Not Be Found][Image Can Not Be Found][Image Can Not Be Found]

Sorry I should of read further

Thanks again

I have installed the custom firmware and everything went fine.

Installed arctools from the appslib, than ran the program to install the Full android market.

Now I have installed Gmail, Google maps, You Tube and I can report that they all work fine.

The Android Market works great and although the Applib market is okay the proper android market is much better.

I get the strange garbage lines every time that I boot the Arnova 10G2, although not a problem is a bit irritating hopefully this will be resolved as the firmware is the first release. Memory card functions work fine and everything else I have tried.

I would like the thank the creators of this custom firmware for there efforts to give this device the Offical android market and Arctools program. Without them these just would not of officially ever been available.[Image Can Not Be Found]

The error 28 while installing the Market was a small issue in current ArcTools update (0.54).

It has been fixed in latest release 0.55, please update ArcTools, either by:

- switching to a different tab while in the application (the update should be offered)

- downloading the updated APK from Arctablet blog (see essential tools on the right side of the blog)

- waiting a few hours until the new release get pushed to Appslib.

Let me know how it goes.

It won't work on the Arnova 7 G2.

We have something in the works for this device, we'll release it when it's ready.
