Here is an improvement over existing Android 4.03 ICS firmware for the Arnova 10 G2 to bring you an update with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. This release is based on Oma JB v1.2.4 and Forgotten Tabs Project (xda) work by OMA and Crew RKTablets, thanks a lot guys for your great work !

This rooted custom firmware features:

  • root with latest SuperSU 1.30 (free version)
  • system default setup to English language
  • Google Play Store fixes so more applications are visible/compatible
  • removed all non Google apps, they can later be installed from Google Play Store
  • updated busybox v1.21.0.git (2012-11-29)
  • Unix like init.d boot scripts support, more details on init.d scripts here
  • changed permissions on external sdcard to allow write access
  • storage for applications (/data partition) size increased to 2 GB
  • update 2013/05/31 (kasty_oma124-arn10g2-41-067-2G.zip) : fixed busybox and root (su) permissions, changed screen density to 120. There are still some performance issues and problems with camera support and init.d that will hopefully be fixed soon.

Flash with Rockchip Batch Tool (use Restore button)

Thanks OMA and Crew RKTablets 🙂

There is no need to use RKtool, just flash again with Rockchip Batch Tool, you shouldn't have the error again.

The flash memory on your tablet may be wearing with time and it happens to get such errors with "old" devices.

You can not use RK Tool to flash an update.img, use just Rockchip Batch Tool.

Then try like this, use Wendal Tools to unpack the update.img, and use the files that you get from the update.img in the RkTool

I found the problem with root access, I just fixed it. For the camera I'm still looking at the issue.

I will post a new update shortly.

Cheers.
