I have searched this forum and all over the web for the ideal size for wallpaper on the Arnova 10 G2 and am going crazy!
I have tried 1024x600, 1200x800, 1920x1408 and many other permutations from various web sites. With all the variations that I try, I can never get the full image (Hight) to display fully. The crop never gets the full image. I understand that it needs to be wider so you can sweep between screens left to right. But the kids are driving me nuts!!
Well done to ultimodiablo for the guide on installing Android Market using stock firmware. Works perfectly!!
Father to 3 Arnova 10 G2 8Gb's (And kids!)
I know what you mean the standard gallery app does some sort of compression on the image so it looks crap no matter what you do with it.
I have resized some images to the native size of 1024x600 and placed them on my daughters tablet, this is how I got to show them up full resolution without the image getting compressed.
Download this app Wallpaper Wizardri: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.twistedapps.wallpaperwizardrii&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS50d2lzdGVkYXBwcy53YWxscGFwZXJ3aXphcmRyaWkiXQ..
When installed go into the settings/preferences/beta options and change it to landscape mode this will make the program easier to use on your tablet because by default it is portrait which makes it harder to use.
Go into advanced options and change image compression value to 100% (The Best)
Now go to main screen and there are 3 icons on the top left, click the top one this will take you to your images, choose one that has been resized to the native screen size(1024x600).
Select image and click set at the bottom, a pop up will come up, simply click CROP EXACT and then pull the yelow box so it covers the full image. Click set!!
Now your images wont look crap like they do with the built in gallery app
