Not sure how I did it, but I now have calendar & contacts synced with 4 separate Google Apps accounts.
How did I do it? I think these are the steps I took:
1 Root as per these great instructions
NOTE: it is imprtant you install Arctools 0.57 and not 0.60 via AppsLib (why 0.60 will not work is beyond my understanding, but it took me several reinstalls to spot this basic error). If you use 0.60 to do a root Market install, you will get an Error 25? Unmounted memory?
2 Do not install Gmail
3 I must have added a Google account when I first went into Marketplace
4 I first installed the calendar drivers as per here, but did not have /system/app, so used the top level folder and then clicked the files to install. I then noticed in Arctools that there is a Calendar App installer, so I used that
5 Then, I think I used AnyCut to install Accounts & Settings - Surprisingly, a sync options for both contacts and calendar popped up for the Google account I setup!
6 Finally, I installed Gmail, via Marketplace
When I added additional accounts, there were issues re setting up syncing, but after a reboot, syncing mail and other fiddling, these started working.
Google Calendar does work for me, without crashing, but only for one account, so I installed aCalendar - great app.
For contacts, I have installed Go Contact, which seems Ok, but I haven't really used it.
Now, if people are saying you cannot sync contacts, it may be because there is no phone on the unit. However, I have installed the 3CXPhone for VoIP (I cannot remember where in the process i did did this), but, I can now dial contacts with one click, via my VoIP server.
I apologise that the sequence of events is may not be exact and may require adjustment, however, here is an image of my 10G2 sync screen, showing contacts & calendar sync options.
Good luck if you try the above!
