Hi, I just purchased this tablet late last night after returning a 7" Acer Iconia that would not charge and half the screen was dark. So far I feel like I got a great deal for the same price, and it's a bigger tablet.
Anyway, I'm not new to Android or rooting, roms, recovery, themes, custom firmware, all that good stuff. I've successfully rooted an HTC Hero, HTC EVO, G1, Mytouch 3g, Samsung Intercept, LG Optimus S, Coby Cyros 7" tablet, and a Nook Color just yesterday. The only thing I've ever tried to root and was not completely successful is an Xperia X10.
So my questions are, will any of the methods used to root these other devices root the G2? I have Gingerbreak 1.2 on the tablet but have not tried to install it because I figured I would ask first. Since it's 2.3 I'm assuming z4root and Superoneclick will not work? I also have FlashTool for the Xperia, and Revolutionary for the Evo. I don't want the custom firmware that is posted here, I'd prefer to keep the stock software with just root access.
Now for accessories, I googled accessories for this tablet and it didn't really give me much, I was able to find this http://www.amazon.com/Synthetic-Leather-Keyboard-Stylus-Black/dp/B004JQN670/ref=dp_cp_ob_pc_title_0 through the search but it says it's for ePad and aPad, will it work? And if not are you aware of anything similar for our tablets?
The Synthetic Leather Case mentionned by Jakeup96 should work, as it connects thru regular USB. If anyone has feedback on similar product it's always good to have it confirmed…
