There are chances that Bluetooth support has been kept in the kernel/drivers, but I haven't heard about a compatible usb dongle so far.

I tested a Trendnet dongle without success, I hope someone had better luck with another adapter.

In my poking around in all the build.prop and init.rc files it sure looks like BT is still in there.  I guess they could have removed them from the Kernal though.

I look the original stock firmware and the update of the october.

In the original stock there was the menues for turnig on Bluetotth, setting it etc etc.

When i update the firmware with the upgrade of october this menu of settings diapparear.

I think the original stock contains more bluetooth elements than the upgrade.

Strange, I never had Bluetooth settings in any of the Arnova 10G2 firmwares I downloaded. Can you post a link to the firmware that had it ? This may be worthless as the device is supposed not to have bluetooth hardware... it's probably not just disabled in the software.

Hello,

sorry but is not possible. I don 't download that firmware. When i buy the tablet, it starts in 2 minutes and has that menu "settings -> Connections -> Wireless -> Bluetooth Settings"....

When, in october, i update the firmware with the arnova official firmware update... the time to start increse to 3/4 minutes and the menu of bluetooth vanish!

I've no idea what kind of firmware was because it was preinstalled and the tablet was new (buy at Darty in Milan - Italy).

Bye.

Thanks for the video, there is some hope by reading this  (Youtube video description)

"be aware that external bluetooth dongle did not work on a Dropad A8 (a.k.a. A8i) with Android 2.2 (factory default). It was needed to update to Android 2.3.1 (build 0531) in order to make bluetooth available* (using the USB Host and a USB bluetooth dongle), which means that some external bluetooth devices can be used on the Dropad A8 tablet, such as Keyboard, GPS and Wiimote."

Let's hope someone can test a similar BT dongle

No idea if it will work, need to try and see, preferably with the same dongle as the on on DX (or dongle using the same chipset)

It looks like Bluetooth dongle using  Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) chipset should be prefered.

http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/18090-haipad-m7-and-usb-bluetooth-dongles/page__view__findpost__p__200507

If anyone want to try any Bluetooth dongle you might have and report here if it's working...

Thanks.

Android doesn't natively contain USB bluetooth drivers. So unless archos added it then it wont work.

Some updates on the subject, fenice57 has made changes on the Arnova 7G2 firmware so it gets partial support of some Bluetooth USB dongles. I will be testing that soon, will report here.
