Maybe this works on 10 G2 ? I'm not able to test it right now. Maybe someone can ?

Thanks.

We will test again on the Arnova 10 G2, but our initial try few days ago wasn't successfull.

Hi there,

on an italian forum we understood that the 3G stick can be work only if the charge is plugged. It is a non sense for a portable concept.

Maybe the usb port doesn't enough powered. Infact if you try to connect an external HD, it isn't recognized becouse you haven't enough power. The same probably for 3G Stick.

In any case we will go on with tests.

bye

Marco

Power may be an issue for devices connected thru USB, especially hard drives that draw a lot of power. It shouldn't be a problem for regular 3G Sticks that draw less power, also the Archos 3G stick does work on the Arnova 8 G2, there is no reason it shouldn't work on other devices that share the same architecture (RK2918 on Android 2.3). Current failures will be probably fixed by software updates (new firmware) from the manufacturer.

I'm not sure that the problem is in new custom firmware because someone can use 3G stick (Huawei E1750) only if the power is plugged. When they unplug the data traffic is interrupted. It mean that the usb port is not enough powered. I would try to connect my tablet at portable additional battery (duracell sell a new " usb device" and guarantee 3 hours more on smartphone, tablet and so on…) but with all this pending cable, it will seem "the old sparkly" of Stephen King (from "the green mile") … [Image Can Not Be Found]

i said in another post just tether your tablet to your andriod phone via virtual wifi spot option on most andriod phones.

then as long as your phone is with you you can connect to the virtual wifi spot your phone creates and use your mobiles data plan.

On the Arnova website, it mentions, that the 10G2 should be 3G Ready, by buying the ARCHOS G9 3G Stick. The same info for 10B G2, but you need an additional micro-usb cable.

Maybe the "new" tablets do have the necessary fixes?

Good news! I have the E160E dongle from Orange and it works really well on Finless' custom rom 1.1!

I also installed Status Bar 3G-2G Lite from the Android Market so I could see connection info.

I have a Vodafone K3565. Its a Huwei E160 I believe.

Anyway.. At this moment I don't have a 3G card. Altough I tried to put another card and it pop up the screen to enter the Pin.

In the next few days I will try to get a data card and test a bit further. But I think it is working.
