Here is a new package that should help fixing the Deep Sleep issue on your Rockchip based devices.  This problem actually affects some 3G enabled tablets that have some problems entering in Deep Sleep mode. This fix was originally posted on 4pda.ru forum.

How does it work ?

The script basically creates a backup file of your existing libril-rk29-dataonly.so in /system/lib directory, the file is named libril-rk29-dataonly.so.backup in case you want to restore it. Then it installs the modified file libril-rk29-dataonly.so.

Requirements and compatibility
A rooted firmware is required, if you are not running one of our Kasty firmwares, you should be able to find one for your device in our forum.

If you are using a different firmware and ArcTools is not pre-installed, you can download it here:

Arctools apk

Running the package

- start ArcTools.

- in the package list select:  "Deep Sleep fix for some Rockchip RK3188 based tablets (libril-rk29-dataonly.so fix from 4pda.ru)"

Arctools_package_Deep_Sleep_fix_Pipo_M6_pro.pngImage Enlarger

- click Download button to retrieve the package on your tablet

- once download has finished, please click "Install apps" button to run the installation script

- reboot your tablet

The usual disclaimer applies: our application and package come with no warranty for any use; you use it at your own risk.

I had installed the latest Kasty Rom yesterday. It works like charm. But unlucky me, I cannot find the "deep sleep..." package in ArcTools as bundling in the Kasty Rom. Could I ask for advice?

Admin,

So this inability to enter "deep sleep" only affects devices that use a 3G modem ?

I don't use 3G at all, so I should not install this ?

I did some googling on this and it seemed to indicate that applying this fix would allow the device to enter deep sleep, but would disable 3G functionality on the device. Here is the post:

http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?7947-Pipo-M6-Pro-RileyROM-1-3&s=ea48ca84ac8589bf9dac46e1452cdeaf&p=110560&viewfull=1#post110560

I guess my question is, who should install this and will it disable 3G functionality ?

My mistake, the ArcTools package was visible to private testers only and not to everybody, it's fixed now.

From the info I have gathered so far, the fix it interesting mostly for users of 3G tablet, which have problems to enter deep sleep. It may also be interesting for other Rockchip based tablet users having problems with deep sleep, but it's not widely tested so far. It's not a risky procedure as the original libril-rk29-dataonly.so is backed up in case restoring the original file is necessary.

Cheers.

unzip this file and place in \system\lib. Overwrite the existing .so file. Then reboot i guess.
