Thanks, much appreciated!!!

CWM Recovery installed easily on my Pipo Max-M1 with TNT Release 6.

Backup to Internal SD worked on first try, backup to External SD worked after reformatting my SD card to FAT32. (it was NTFS) This also made it possible to access the External SD for all other CWM Recovery functions! Unfortunately this now limits the file size on the External SD to 4 GB. I’m OK with that but if anyone knows of a workaround to keep my SD card NTFS, it would be much appreciated.

Uncle Jed

Ps. make sure to save all your files before formatting!!!

mrc_o,

The dead robot means your device is booting the stock recovery, somehow the CWM install did not work on your tablet. Since it's confirmed to work on the PiPO M9 pro, you may want to try again (two more times if needed) to see if it finally works.

Cheers.

Did you install the Kasty Rom using ARCTOOLS?

I am unsure myself but I get the impression in the video that ARCTOOLS does everything whereas you imply you only used ARCTOOLS after you had installed Kasty Rom via another method.

Perhaps admin could make clear?

Kasty firmware needs to be installed with Rockchip Batch tool, as stated in each forum post about a custom firmware release.

ArcTools as you see in the video here is used only to add CWM Recovery to an existing rooted firmware (ex. Kasty).

Cheers.

Thanks!

This is possibly a silly question(s) but for an existing rooted stock firmware (up and running with data/apps) with no recovery is procedure the same (is it better to start again from scratch i.e. flash rom and then ArcTools CWM install? Also does ArcTools reformat the SDCard when installing CWM?

Is there a way to revert back from CWM to the original recovery or boot into it?
