Hi @

I have a CUBE U30GT2. The original firmware is slow and full of bugs. So I try to get a new firmware.

I have downloaded and installed the Arc Tolls, but this app does not work. After starting the tool and selecting "Reboot Recovery" nothing happens.

I am a complete newbie. Is there anybody able to help ?

Best Regards,

Bernd

ArcTools and this CWM package are designed for rooted firmware only, it won't work on the default/stock firmware that you probably have. Please check our Cube U30GT2 forum section if you want to install a rooted firmware.

Cheers.

OK need some help please... I have u35gt tablet and Ubuntu 12.04 PC since i had no windows to run the rk tool on in order to flash the whole entire, i saw this custom CWM recovery that can be flashed using adb shell as root, (which worked great I thank you) But I just assumed that i would be able to flash a rom.zip using the recovery mode as have have always done in the past with other devices, which i was wrong in assuming and should have done more homework before i went in ans started messing with crap. come to find out that all the roms ou tt for this ask tht it be flashed in the rkanroid-tool. and none via the method im used to using for other devices. So someone  did suggest that i should just run windows 7 out of a virtualbox///  and run it that was. OK well its took three solids days of working through ISO downloads Installs, registrations, updates, drivers errors windows sucks etc etc... just to end up with the virtualbox not even able to see the usb ports and NOT EVEN SUPPORING USB 2.0 which is required by rktool and this portion of my weekend specifically spent to get this portion to the point i thought i had gotten it to was now a complete waist of LIFE. Luckily i found and extention pack for virtualbox to correct that issue about 30 secs brefore carting all this crap out to the back yard to make  my own video on youtube viral video about how much fun it can be to shoot expensive e;ectronics i paid for just for the pleaseure of watching it break, and then posting it for the world to see.

Now that i have fixed and tested all that... what now? I cant find any stock recovery.img to revert back to i cant find any rom that will flash like im used to... and i didnt even get to putting the originsfirmware upgrafe on it cause i figured it was a waste of time if i was just going to switch i right away anyways. so am i really stuck with non rooted, stock rom with crappy wifi and a customer recovery that does at least make nice backups off all this suff on there i can change.

So yea.. any suggestions? Id really like Omas v88 rom, but where do i go from here?

Haven't tested all the aspects yet but seems to install OK on Archos 80 Titanium. Just wish there was a custom room to flash :-)
