Hi I have a question concerning getting CWM installed on my RCA 7 inch tablet (RTC6272W23). It is a ROCKCHIP based device (RK3066). itis on 4.2.2. I was wondering if it applied to mine or not? I only need to install CWM so I can make a complete backup of the stock ROM, I will not be using it for custom Roms. I am rooted. If so would i have to change the name of the zip file, and also would i use the generic rk30 download. Thanks in advance

I have a rk30sdk tablet which processor is a rk3600 (used cpu-z to identify). ArcTools downloads the CWM recovery and installs it but when I enter recovery mode, CWM does not mount any drive, not even the internal drive. This tablet have internal drive, internal sdcard and external sdcard. CWM mount none. I tried several solutions found on the internet with no luck. Have you encountered this before?

Hi, I have tried to install the CWM with ArcTools on an Archos Gamepad 2, but it did not work and I am not able to access stock recovery anymore.
I have also tried to use FlashTool to flash the full .img package, but it seems that the tablet is not capable to enter in bootloader too.
If I turn it off, then I connect it to a USB port (tried with different cables and notebooks) while pressing "+" button it tells me that the USB device was not recognized, and in Windows control panel there is a yellow mark in the USB Controller section and it says "Device descriptor request failed".
What can I do to to restore the tablet? Could I use ArcTools to flash the stock recovery the same way I did for the CWM? If yes, where can I find the original recovery.img file?
Thanks in advance for your help.

kitkat CWM not working on pipo u9t,
using the arctools installer it doesn't return an error, but doesn't work.
manually trying to flash it from root adb I get this
./flash_image recovery recovery.img
and I get
error scanning partitionsfailed with error: -1
using RKAndroid Tool 1.37 to flash at 0x00010000 causes the pipo logo then just a black screen on recovery boot.
on a side note the cifs.ko , md4.ko modules cause the tablet to freeze, reboot (probly a kernel panic) when trying to mount a remote share.
Don't buy from pipo-store.com.

hi,you are right generic cwm from arctools.apk dont work on gamepad 2
if you want to restore gp2 look here for firmware:
http://www.archos.com/faq/index.php?sid=770079&action=artikel&cat=70&id=258&artlang=en
after you downloaded update.IMG and you want to connect gp2 to PC,don't press +
press - and your PC will recognize your gp2
I don't know why "-" but it works,good luck
if samething wrong tell me
It didn't succeed in my Onn 07DX (Yifang M7000) RK3066 7" JB 4.2.2.
This is because kernel is not located in kernel partition, is in boot partition instead.
Many tablets comes this way this days. My Onn 07D (Yifang M7100KLD) RK3026 7" JB 4.2.2.
Solution is tricky for non-experts: dump boot.img from the device, split boot.img and kernel.img and reflash them. Very risky and not a simple task, specially for windows users (non-unix users).
IMHO, if the app doesn't detect kernel in kernel partition, give a warning.
More complete solution: search for kernel in boot partition, and do all the trick.
Too much to ask!
Anyway, good app this Arctool.
Thanks for posting!

Hi,
I tried to install CWM on my iFive mini 3 retina.
It works, I installed gapps on my ROM but now I can not get out the recovery mode.
Every time I reboot it goes back to CWM. And I can not flash again because rockchip do not recognize the tablet in CWM.
Anyone can help ?
Thanks a lot!!

The "iFive X2 Android 4.4.2 CWM Recovery by ManuPC"that is listed in post #1 is a good option for anyone looking for a ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery on a RK tablet running KitKat. Still it has limitations such as not being able to support sdcard for storage.
Tested with my PiPo 8HD works 100%
