I have been reading this forum and noting the instructions for Arctools to add Google Play
to the 7 G3.
Is the procedure safe ? I mean, is there any possibility of screwing up the tablet by doing this ?
If the tablet does get screwed, can it be recovered ?
I have only just bought the tablet and don't want to take any risks.
It's quite safe, there have been hundreds of downloads on the Arnova 7 G3 and a few users reporting success, as usual most of the people just complain when it doesn't work.
There is still a little risk when you use applications playing with root access, but we've try to make it as safe as possible.
In case anything goes wrong, it's always possible to flash back to the stock firmware, but it requires a little setup to make the necessary adb connection with the tablet, see the Arnova 7 G3 forum for the details.

Thanks for the reply.
I have followed the instructions for adding Google Play etc, and it seems to work.
At first when I tried to access Google Play I received a message
Couldn't sign in
Can't establish a reliable connection to the server.
This could be a temporary problem or your Android device may not be
provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care.
I could also not sign in to Appslib because of connection problems. I tried to access Google
Play from my phone and had no problems.
I the powered the tablet down and back up a couple of times and then it worked. I have downloaded
and installed an app with no problem.
Seems to be ok at the moment.
