I did it but root was lost :(

The OTA rootkeeper did not keep the root and does not have option to restore after firmware update.

Maybe because it doesn't support SuperSU (it says it only supports Superuser)?

I tested the updated firmware and the wifi still sucked. I wonder what improvements they did on it?

Now flashing rooted firmware back on.

Peter,

Have you tried to apply the ARCHOS update on the rooted firmware as I suggested in a previous post ?

Cheers.

Nope, sorry. I expected that root would be lost so I let it be. I'm still hoping for someone to root the new updated fw. And for someone who has ideas about 'wifi direct' always being disabled although it was introduced in jelly bean...

Hi guys,

I need some help plz.

I tried to follow the steps described in post 3 to root my titanium 80.

I used Rockchip Batch Tool and update.img in kasty-titanium80-41-test1.

The usb driver was detected, the green light was on in Rockchip tool, I press upgrade, everything goes fine and it says at the end Success.

The tablet reboots at the end and I get recovery system v4.1, after few moments the tablet reboots again and it starts.

I tried to check if I have root access using Root Checker app and it seems that I dont have root access which means the procedure failed.

I have tried two times.

Any help plz ??

thanks.

Hi,

I have managed to ROOT my Archos device with the kasty-titanium80-41-test1.

I have noticed the screen shot function has gone?

When the power and volume down button is pressed.

Has anyone else got the same issue and any fixes?

Many thanks.

I think it is related with the firmware, when I had the tablet I encountered this issue (and since the firmware is dumped from the tablet that I had, the issue should be on everyone that is using the firmware).
We don`t have any more the 80 Titanium so we can dump the new update, and make a rooted firmware from it.

To do a new firmware we need either :

1) a new tablet or loaned one for 1/2 days so I can dump the new updated firmware
2) some one that has a Linux machine with team viewer installed, and the titanium 80, and me to dump the firmware remotely.

If not too much to ask, can you make a sysdump and track the alarms and wakelocks with betterbatterystats ?
