i dont understand something. when i go to the 70 titanium recovery and choose "apply update from sd card" after copying  the one downloaded from the archos website, it says: "..... find and check firmware..... can not found firmware or invalid image......". why?

Because the rk3066 recovery accept only RockChip update.img. RockChip platform is not a good android platform (for development) but it have a low price.

because that type of firmware needs to be an update.img but since you don`t upload the files we can not build an update.img
the update from archos, is an OTA update (over the air) which does not contain an update.img
