Dear forum members,
I recently bought a Bush windows smartphone which is a re-branded Archos 40 cesium (under "phone information" the model is given as "ARCHOS - BUSH Windows Phone" and the carrier as "BUSH"). I am a bit disappointed to find that it is running a version of Windows Phone 8.1 from July 2014 (8.10.12400.899), and that when I check for updates it tells me that the phone is up to date. Among other things, this means that maps can only be downloaded to the phone's main memory, not to the SD card: this was only fixed in WP8.1 version 8.10.14219.341 (December 2014). It also misses out on a lot of improvements and fixes that were introduced in WP8.1 version 8.10.14147.180 (August 2014).
Can anyone tell me if this lack of updates applies to the Archos 40 cesium itself, or if it has something to do with the Bush branding? If you have the Archos-branded 40 cesium, and it has been updated to a version later than 8.10.12400.899 (without having to do any special tricks like using the Preview for Developers app), I would be grateful if you could post the version number here. Look under "Settings/system", "about", "more information", and the version number is listed as "OS version"
Thanks for any responses,
