There is a big chance that this phone can be rooted with the fallowing tool
http://download.unlocksamsungonline.nl/SRSRoot-Setup.exe

Of course, the usual stuff, we can not be held responsible for any damage that my appear.

If someone manages to root the phone with this method, please let me know :)

Unsecure boot.img
ro.secure=0
ro.debuggable=1
Download
http://www.mediafire.com/download/v4o69nfdxllih3h/bootcurrentfirmware.img
Rename the file to boot.img
Flash the boot.img via fastboot.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot continue

Enable write access on /system partition with

adb remount

Then download supersu and su and do the next things

adb push su /system/xbin/su
adb shell chown 0.0 /system/xbin/su
adb shell chmod 06755 /system/xbin/su
adb push superuser.apk /system/app/superuser.ap

Reboot the phone

For those asking them self why do you need an Insecure boot.img, read here
http://whiteboard.ping.se/Android/Rooting

In theory this should allow you to be root user (adb is started as root), and push su/superuser to the phone/tablet.

System Partitions and overlay

/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 sys_boot partition (DO NOT PLAY WITH THIS PARTITION !!!)
/dev/block/mmcblk0p7 boot.img partition

/dev/block/mmcblk0p17 system partition

Only the people from there, anyway I found the same method as them :)
And the method with the boot.img should be more safer.

Globula just helped me to root my 50 Platinum (running last firmware from 20130726) with the method from post #1.

There is an even easier method that can be used now, more on that soon…

Is this compatible with the current (20130726) firmware update? Also, is there a way to install a recovery (CWM, TWRP or anything else)? Just asking because this method doesn't include that (There could be something like a follow up guide for it).

Hello, we just finished a perfect CWM 20 minutes ago :) .

Download link
http://www.mediafire.com/?v9lgmdeaktaiqds

Way to flash
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery CWM50Plat.img

After you install the recovery, you can google for a SU zip pack and flash it using the recovery.

I believe you forgot to insert the links for each CWM version :)

Also, do these work in any firmware version? I'm still in 20130604

Are these zips flashable via CWM or should we fastboot the .img file inside the zips?
