Today, I accidentally hardbricked my phone while formatting sys_boot partition in CWM Recovery.Â
Nothing works anymore: booting, recovery, fastboot, ...
The only thing that shows up when I power up my phone is "RESET FOR ENTRY QPST DOWNLOAD".
I searched online for a solution to unbrick my phone, and I found one (for a similar phone): it restores a backup of the sys_boot partition that was previously erased. Together with the tutorial, a backup was provided, but since it's a backup of another phone model it doesn't work with mine. So my question is: can someone PLEASE make a backup of the partition that was damaged? It would help me a lot, and save me €240 for a new phone.
To make the backup, you only need Acronis True Image, attach your device and back up the partition that's exactly 50MB in size. It doesn't contain personal information, it's just something required to boot your device.
When you need a more detailed explanation, just let me know! Or even better, if someone knows another solution, let me know.
Please, I beg you all, help me out and I will be thankful forever!
Greetings, and thanks in advance

And i did said here
/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 sys_boot partition (DO NOT PLAY WITH THIS PARTITION !!!)
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/archos-smartphones/archos-50-rootinfodevelopment/
Did you tried on xda, i don`t know if admin is available to do a dump of that partition.
That partition can be dumped also via adb if you have root
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 of=/sdcard/sys_boot.img bs=4096
The normal method is to have a pack with a flashing tool which can restore that partition.
I do remember from another device that if you get the phone in download mode (power and volume keys + and -) in linux some new partitions will pop out (also in windows, but not all are visible do to the file format) and from there you can restore those partitions.
What you are saying also makes me recompile the cwm, and remove that partition from the flashing blocks.
Ps:
I don`t have the phone, i had it for 7 days for some reviews, and that was it.
The cwm was tested with Admin, he has the 50 Plat

currently uploading the file, will update the post with the link.
About blocking this partition from the cwm, i think it's a great idea to prevent destroying our phones.
edit: here you go
I only did what globula said, if something happens to your phone due to this file is on you.
ps: I backed up the other partitions as well. If you need them, I can share as long as they don't contain personal info. Also, my phone is currently rooted with CWM installed and I'm in the 20130604 version of the ROM.
The following users say thank you to Adonis K. for this useful post:

2 of them contain the IMEI and radio (don`t know which exactly )
It is not a good idea to share them
The sys_boot should contain the amss.mbn if i am not wrong.

I just opened the sys_boot.img
It contains 2 files
AMSS.MBN
and
AMSSHD.MBN
To restore the files, the most easy way is to:
-get the phone in download mode( a drive should appear on windows with the exact size of 50 MB), copy the 2 files, reboot the phone, start it up, and it should be ok
I have uploaded the two files here
http://globula.arctablet.com/ARCHOS_50_PLAT/sys_boot.zip
If you take my approach, you will have to copy these to, unpacked ofc, towards the drive.

Thanks a lot Adonis K! But it looks like Acronis can't handle .img files :/
Is it possible to make an image using Acronis? Or does anybody know software that can burn an .img to seperate partitions sector-by-sector?

As i said, you can do this in linux also
Have a look here to understand how

Okay, I understand, I'll copy the two files to that drive, but unfortunately Windows doesn't recognize those partitions... I tried Linux Reader, but I can't copy files using that software. Does anybody know software for Windows that can?

globula_neagra, I don't have Linux, I'm sorry...

I don't think there is.
And is a big chance that windows will not open it because it is ext4, so linux might be the only way.

If somebody can make a backup of that partition using Acronis True Image I can just restore it - the file can be useful for other people who might brick their phone in the future

I don`t think that it will work. The image dumped by Adonis, is an exact image of what you should flash back.

Well it should work, I found a tutorial for a similar device (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.451139748289143.98869.390023244400794&type=3) and there it works, I just need the specific image from the Archos 50 Platinum.Â
