I received my 97 Platinum HD (not 97b) arrived yesterday and has failed to impress me .
My first concern was with the box - it had lots of dings and a few rips in it. It was taped shut as well.
Then when I opened the box, my worst fears were confirmed. It was obviously a returned used model. The accessories were all used and put into well-used plastic bags. There was no usb cable. The quick start and guarantee booklets were creased and with dogeared covers. One of them had a piece of... something stuck to it. It may have been a feather or a bit of cat fur or something but I didn't hang around to check it out.
Then I took the tablet out. It was in a protective foam cover but that's as far as the protection goes. The screen had several fingerprints and smudges on it. No protective electrostatic plastic either. And some scratches, although very minor, on the casing.
When I plugged the charger in, it kept disconnecting at the slightest puff of wind. I finally got it working by moving the tablet into the far corner of the room where no one could touch it. But it took around 7 hours to get it completely charged but it finally got there. It took a lot less time than that to use it up though. So I tried charging it again today and there wasn't a peep from it. So I tried my phone with the charger. Nope, nothing. So the charger has completely died and as it is a 2.5a output model, I don't have any other chargers which come anywhere near that sort of power.
I had such high hopes for this tablet. Unfortunately I didn't get to use it long enough to find out what it is really capable of.
I found the charger that came with my PlayBook and I was able to charge the tablet much quicker with this. From dead to fully charged in about 3 hours.
I contacted the seller and they say they have no more in stock and want me to return it for repair. I've told them there is nothing wrong with the tablet, just the charger. I explained about the condition and that I woul expect them to refund some money as the price was too high for a used item that didn't have all accessories included. We'll see what happens.
