Sorry for not having replied before...
I'll travel for the coming weeks, but I definitely want to give it a try when I'll be back
I already look at the discussion you had on the other forum, and there are a couple of things I am not sure about... so I'll certainly have 1 or 2 questions for you (as it looks like you gave it a try on your side !!!).
By the way, is everything working fine for you with this firmware? Did the new SDK improve a lot the performances of the 97b?
About the official update, they have just fixed 3 issues and nothing more
About the unofficial update, I should work on this next week, as I'll some days off
But before trying everything, I'll like to make sure to have everything ready. So correct me if I am wrong, but I should first backup my recovery (just in case, I'll need to send back again this device to Archos support...), then install a CWM, right?
For the other steps, I have already started to look at the XDA thread (the one you are talking to OMA)... so I should be able to understand most of the steps.
my final thought about this tablet is: bad purchase. Because of the official support and even the unofficial. If anyone is about to buy a tablet, choose a better supported brand (pipo, cube, onda and more)
i can't stand the fact that a simple firmware with sdk 2 can boost this tablet and no1 gives a shit. The only archos guy that answered me was the facebook page user and he didn't know anything about updates.
