There is one method that may work (non permanently) if you have a rooted tablet:

http://android.stackexchange.com/google-play-market-arnova8-g3s/17657/how-to-change-permanent-mac-address-on-my-android-phone

see first answer, with iplink / ipconfig.

I haven't tried it myself.

I have a big problem!

While I was folowing the steps to root my tablet, almost at the end of the part of Enabling SDE & Permanently Rooting Your tablet  there's a point where you have to reboot your device. I did it. But it never woke up. It is rebooting all the time.

I just can start on Recovery Mode (Start button + Volume - ). BUT if I do Format System --> Reset Android ....it doesn't do anything.

There are other solutions, such as "Reset Android and Storage" or "Reformat Device" .....  the PROBLEM is that I've stored a big amount of data in it, and ofcourse i'd like not loose it.

Please, is there anything I could do to save the information?

Thanks, again!

I actually didn't solve the problem, but it is worst.

In Recovery Mode I tried to install a new firmware (4.0.6), expecting it won't delete the information I had within the tablet.  Well, I installed the firmware actually and the tablet turned on correctly, but all the information was lost.

Now I pray for your help for:

- I know there're app's to recover lost information for Android. Which would you recomend me?

- I've read, most of these app's need the tablet rooted. Now that I've already lost all the data, I'll try again to root it, but.... what's better: root it permanently or temp?

However, if you can give me any other addvice, I'll be pleased to hear them!

Thanks!

I don't know if your data has been really erased or if there is any chance of recovery. Maybe you can ask on XDA:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1456875

About rooting, I'd say it depends which app you need it for. Permanent root is always best, and included SuperUser app let you control how the root access is given to other apps.

Thanks for your answer!

I've posted into XDA.   I need rooting just to change the MAC Address.

Thanks!
