Wondering where I should be with this software wise? I did install the very newest firmware release but couldn't begin to comment on any worthwhile difference...seems fine.
However since checking this site I discovered a newer set of ArcTools and am at a loss if those should be installed on my 43? Seems to be a full set of things there. I've downloaded all of it but two files were not allowed thru the firewall and Norton (GingerBreak and the Z4root piece). Is the GingerBreak what I think it may be (an unsupported release that mimics 2.3)? Anyone actually using it?
Where should it be as far as the Market stuff? I did use the Tools (0.61) to set it up and get on the Market and that too seems to be working ok. Except for some things that are incompatible which is not a surprise of course. I set it to use the 3.0.26 file set. Is that ok or should I apply the newer? If yes, why?
I know, lots of questions but like Zoebatty I'm new to the 43. Had a 28 for a few days and decided I needed the larger screen, etc, of the 43.
Thanks for your consideration of these questions.

If you already installed the Market, upgrading to latest ArcTools is OK but won't be used, unless you want to update Android Market to latest 3.4.4. This version is usually more responsive with "slow" devices, so the upgrade should be all benefit.
Gingerbreak and z4root are tools to root tablets or phones, it will not work on your Archos 43, nor there are currently other tools to root the device.
