I have a new Archos 101 8g tablet. Â I wanted android market, so following the video instructions. Â When I got to the screen install market, I got three choices instead of the one 2.2... shown on the video. Â I chose the one shown on the video (I'm a grandma learning this stuff), and finished with no problems. Â when I tried to read my hotmail through the browser, I got a "certificate warning" and had to say "continue" constantly. Â What do I need to do? Â My daughter says I have the wrong email app, but her tablet (a year older) didn't have this problem. Â Do I need to start over and install a different version of the market? Â Would that be the same instructions, just a different version?
I remember seeing this message on tablets with an old firmware, that may contain out of date security certificates.
First, try to update your tablet with latest firmware:
http://www.archos.com/support/support_tech/firmware.html?country=us&lang=en&g=8
The latest (2.4.81) firmware file being available here:Â
http://update.archos.com/8/gen8/gen8_2.4.81/firmware_archos_android_gen8.aos
Â
When the device has latest firmware, please follow ArcTools procedure from the start, beginning with the Android Reset step. When choosing the Market/Apps in ArcTools, the list differs a bit from the video, as the application has been updated... just leave the default choice (first line) select and follow the steps...
Let us know how it goes.

Email up and running beautifully. Â Downloaded Nook, bought book, won't open. Â Says I must have an SD card... Â Have several "free" books through ereader that came with tablet, enjoying them on the treadmill, especially. Â Can't just walk, need to keep the brain busy too. Â Thanks for the guidance.
