So I got my archos 28 today. (The small one, the one about the size of an ipod touch) So immediately as I pulled off the screen cling I saw a bunch of newton rings on the screen. I got this directly from amazon themselves so it cant be their fault. Plus the way the screen is made it seems like that causes the newton rings because as I push on the screen, they appear and quickly disappear. Anybody know if this is normal? The screen looks like a film so maybe that is why?

A video or some photos(if possible) would help. Different people - different interpretation of what the newton rings are, the manour resistive screens work etc.

This picture gives an idea, but it's not easy to figure out everything maybe it would be better with a zoomed out picture, showing the complete device. Is the problem visible when the screen is turned on ?

It isn't very noticeable with the screen on but I just want to know if this is normal for these kind of screens because it was like this when I got it brand new and sealed. 20120507_164054.jpgImage Enlarger

Thanks for the second picture, it's more clear there.

I've tried to reproduce this effect on an Archos 32 and Archos 35 (which have a similar design) looking at different angles,  I did not get anything. I've attached a picture.

It can be that the Archos 28 has some slight changes in the case/screen design that produce the light reflection you see on the screen or you have a problem on yours, I really can't tell. Hopefully other Archos 28 users could share their view with us...

i would dare to say that is a problem of the screen, i remeber i had i phone and i forgot it the path of the sun, and something like that happened
second time, if you press a device on the screen you will get the same results (usually the marks dissapear when you press it)
