Hi a question, the microcontroller board that brings you removed the battery to connect the ancient or welding've installed the 2 cables (red / white) to the plate?.

I've used the one that was on the orginal Archos battery just like Hailraizer's tutorial, desolder it from the archos battery and replace the one on the new battery with the archos one.

The following users say thank you to sigma.nl for this useful post:

Great tutorial,

Too bad i'm not great in soldering stuff :p so i won't risk it.

But if there is someone in the Netherlands that is 100% sure he/she can pull it off i would be happy to give them some cash to build mine a better battery. Than this tablet would be the best there is.

Hello,

the most of posted batteries are out of stock in shops. Can I use that one with the original PCB from Archos?

Does it fit?

Thanks.

i just joined the community and got interested with the development of archos gamepad custom roms, kernels and most importantly, hellrazer's gamepad battery mod.

i own the gamepad for a week now. replaced the stock battery of my gamepad with a 4000mah 3.7v (there wasn't any 4700mah available here in my place). a little wider but managed to fit in. Battery life has improved a lot. charging time takes me about 3 hours.

it's just a little weird, i don't know if its the gamepad firmware but even when it's on sleep mode it drains the battery unlike any other.fixed that by making sure wi-fi is turned off and installed setCPU and i underclock it to 816mhz when i'm not using it. this is ok when watching videos on youtube. checking mail, browsing, listening to music and facebook, but when it's time to play some emulators like PPSSPP and EPSXE i clock it back to 1272-1416mhz.

i wish the gamepad devs are still active and won't give up on this wonderful device, it has lots of potential.

and a big thanks to HELLRAZER for this wonderful battery mod

cheers!

I have a question for all of you.

A friend of mine installed a new battery in the gamepad.

I thought it was fine battery workes and all. But accidently the touch screen ribbon cable got torn while removing the tape. The screen works the touch does not.

Does anyone know which cable i need and where to find it? I searched but could'nt find the right one. It is a flat cable with 6 pins but i don't know anything about the different sizes.

First of all I would like to thank you all for your great job with this tablet... I bought one to my child and I am really surprised with the amount of post to improve the tablet... thank you all.

Answering to andytuinman3, it seems that some of the wires are cut... you could check it with a multimeter in ohms option and see what is the cut wire... I may say that here in my country it is very difficult to find this kind of ribbon... I do not know if I am talking silly but try to use a flat 80 wires HDD cable and cut the wires as long as you need to replace those wich are cut... If possible, try to sold it to the two points of the conductor ribbon if you have space enough...

I hope this would work.

I tried this mod but can't get it to charge at all...I had a 4700 mah battery with only red and black wires and not the white one..It's marked T on the board?Anyone know the purpose of it?Thanks..

After re-checking my mod...The white wire is a loop back for the main board to check voltage as it's charging...It's marked T on the main board itself...It is mandatory for it to be there or it won't charge period..So far working good after re-checking my work...Hope this helps some...
