Hi

Just a quick reply to say thank you very much for the ROM.

It makes my gamepad run superfast and fixes most problems that the stock and the other rooted firmware have.

Hope to see updates to this custom ROM in the future.

nice to read people still like it, rom customization is a little bit quiet at the moment because I'm modifying the gamepad with a new D-pad and Battery but future updates will come.

cheers

Thanks for the heads up.

My battery is on the way. Hoping to get 6+ hours

What d-pad are you going to put in there? Am interested in changing mine out too.

I tried the nes d-pad but I didn't like it (was a little to high) then I went for a Snes d-pad this one:

http://www.retrogamewinkel.nl/Webwinkel-Product-1155135/Super-Nintendo-Controller-(Nieuw-in-doos).html

it isn't the official nintendo controller but the d-pad looks and feel pretty much the same and it was only 9 bucks. I needed to add some plastic circle pads to get the correct high for the buttons, it took me some time to get the right feeling (streetfighter character select screen and Ken's moves are the best way to test the buttons) take your time to test it well I think you want to open your gamepad only once.

have a nice modding time.. :)

It's worth it my gamepad is now perfect.

The 2 transparant circles are there to fill up the hole to the same level as the rest of the  d-pad.

The blue one is around 2 mm thick

The yellow one is around 1 mm with a little tape on it.

are you still liking your d-pad mod.  I'm about to start my mod and just want to know if you could do it over again if there would be any changes.

I still like my mod I have no regrets, there is one thing you can not do over again and that is of course the cutting of the d-pad form in the gamepad case.

I can say take your time and don't be in a hurry because that will result in a bad mod.

I tested the d-pad till I was completely satisfied charater select screen of Fighting games are a good reference because when you press up on the d-pad is does not have to go up-right as you know what i mean.

the shape of the d-pad and high is very important because one side is higher then the other.

I can recommend the snes d-pad , I tried the nes and a wii classic pro d-pad but got the best results with the  snes d-pad it was the best for me.

Like I said take your time and test everything before you closed the gamepad because I ound it hard to open up the gamepad the first time and didn't wanted to do it again.

cheers

put the rom on your gamepad, boot into CWM and use "install zip from sdcard" browse to the location where you put the JFG-rom and select Yes, It's a FULL WIPE !!! so every setting within android is back to default.

Thank you very much. I installed the Rom yesterday, after weeks of trying to decide if it's worth the trouble of reinstalling and reconfiguring all my emulators. I am glad I did it! For the first time I see how the Gamepad was intended to be. ;-)

I had almost constant crashes of the Archos Music App (rooted Rom based on Update 27/12/2012) and the system hung for seconds without responding on a regular basis, additionally, some Apps (Archos Music?) always woke the tablet from sleep mode, so that it was always necessary to power the system down completely.

None of these problems occur with your rom, sleep mode works, no non responding touch screen any more, power down is completed in seconds (on my old Rom, it took almost a minute to power down).

Oh yes and the 3D Mark gives me an additional 100 points :-)

If anybody has problems with his Gamepad, my advice is, install this Rom.

nice to read that your gamepad is working better with the custom rom,
glad I could help you by creating this rom. Spended some time in creating it but it was worth the effort :)

Great ROM !

Thank you very much, because now the keys latency is gone, and the tablet is more stable and faster too !

Your optional packages are a very good idea, i have installed the Archos apps, because the audio player is the best !

Thankn you again !
