Just try to flash it, I also had this. My findings are nothing but trial and error. One tip, don't give up! Smile Try another USB port or PC, restart the program or when it fails and it waits to timeout : plug it in another USB port and wait for it to timeout.

Here is my log of the flash :

hmm ok ok :/ !!

but i don't untderstand : with a customfimware, or the true archos'firmware ?

EDIT :

I tried everything: the original firmware with "uptade" twice. Same mode "restores" twice. And the same things with customefirmware ...
Nothing from nothing. Knowing that every time the square was blue.

whether IDB probleme, whether "Wait for maslroom fail"...

If you did the unbrick trick, did you kept pressing the power buttom meanwhile striking the pins of the NAND chip ?
Else if you just bricked it by setting it in flash mode and you got the IDB Download failed message, you need to do this trick.
The GamePad doesnt have it's normal bootloader anymore so it can't get into flash mode. By striking the pins you set it in an sort of low level debug mode.

That's handy to know, you wouldn't mind showing this trick as a youtube video by any chance?

Hi guys!
Well, I'm not with my Archos until Sunday, but I will try to change the USB cable ...

I want you to reassure me: is that other people were in the case have not ONLY a blue square, and change cable, a green square, a sign of recovery possible?
And is it useful to try and try and try a restore when the square is blue, or is it doomed to failure?

As a reminder, I did this on two pc (win xp and seven), and different USB ports, always blue ...

(and good new year !)

Thx :/ !

Hi Adamas, Happy Newyear!

I've done some further research on this and it seems that Blue actually means that your tablet is in Rom Mask flash mode (Low level flashmode) and should work/flash correcly!
So, yeah you should be able to restore it (as far I'm aware of, you can't brick the tablet any further then this as the rom mask mode is flash mode in hardware (the Low level thing I'm talking about))

Hope this helps!

PS : Sorry for saying that Blue was Evil earlier, I had so many colours in that box that I didn't know what it was trying to say :P

I do confirm Blue color is OK for the square in Rockchip Batch tool, as gpusert said, it means the NAND flash is in mask mode ready to download the firmware.

Here is a short video on a similar procedure I did on a UG802 MINI PC (it's a different device, but also uses a RK3066 SoC like the GamePad, and the flash procedure is identical).

Cheers.
