It should work no matter which firmware you upgrade from, stock one, last update or even a custom firmware. Just make sure you are using Rockchip Batch tool and use the Restore button.

Cheers.

Ok thanks, I'll flash my device tonight. Will post the results.

Thanks a lot for the rooted firmware.

I have successfully flashed it, coming from stock firmware 1.0, using Win7/64bit.

Here's how I did it:

connected tablet to usb, switched off the tablet, then pressed vol+,vol-, poweron at the same time.

The tablet was still showing me a black screen (no archos logo), but Win7 complained suddenly about a missing driver. I went into the device manager, used the rockchip driver (amd64/win7) and proceeded to start the flashing tool. If your device proceeds automatically to boot Android, then you have do something wrong.

Then (still with a black screen on the tablet) I selected the rooted firmware, clicked on "restore" and waited a few minutes. The flash completed successfully. It will set everything back to default, this means all apps/settings are gone. Then it rebooted automatically.

Then I checked for root access - first SuperSU wanted an update, then Check Root didn't want to show me a root success, but then I remembered to turn on usb debugging on the tablet. Afterwards, checkroot confirmed that the tablet is rooted! :)

Thanks!

Rooted my gamepad with no problems, followed your instructions and everything was smooth and simple.

Thank everyone for there comments and helpfull tips.

gr.

@admin

I also installed the rooted firmware from the last official update with success! GREAT WORK! Thanks a ton.

Is there any chance that you can integrate the Mapping Tool Update in the firmware?

@all

P.S.: I bought a USB-LAN adapter just to find out that Google Market is denying ANY app installation

from a non-wireless source... I do not have any wireless service available. If somone knows how I can

get the apk file of the Mapping Tool or any other non-wireless way, it would be MUCH appreciated.

Hi guys, I'm new here and I tried your rooted firmware, successfully! I used win7 x 64 and I originally updated to version of 27/12. Thank you so much for the great job :)

Killed my gamepad with the update :(

PC still recognizes the gamepad but the batching tool stops everytime with a "Preparing IDB Fail".

Tried several computers with different windows versions and different cabels - same shit...

...no risk - no fun.

Sorry for the question, but did you use "Restore" button instead of "Upgrade"?

I pressed the restore button, but i think my nand memory or/and my usb-port is broken because i had problems before to connect the gamepad with a PC to copy data, music and pictures.

Have You detached the USB cable? The gamepad sometimes take ages to boot when I have the USB cable connected to my computer.

First time boot takes a while.
