Having researched Google, it would seem that most devices that use Jelly Bean coupled with the Arm 1.6ghz processor (Rk2066?) will not enter deep sleep. I believe it's a kernal issue. I hope Archos is able to fix this in software, but since most other devices that use this CPU have the same problem, I have my doubts.
I just got my Gamepad, and although I'm pleased with it, the battery life sucks (which I knew going in). But not going into deep sleep sucks more. I had 100% charge when I went to bed last night, and after around 12 hours, the battery was at like 57%. I checked the battery stats, and 'device idle' consumed the entire battery. No apps were running in the background.
I also downloaded and tried installing Deep Sleep Battery Saver Pro, which is supposed to help put the device to deep sleep. However, it made no difference in battery life, and did not put the Gamepad to deep sleep.
Does anyone know if any of the custom firmwares out there for the Gamepad fix this problem?
Thanks,
X
