Hi,

is there any way to edit the system/build.prop folder ?

I used arctools firmware, and i'm able to access root and stuff. But it's read only. Root explorer can't make it writable either.

If i use "the kitchen" to make a custom ROM, will it work with that ?

With the stock firmware and our custom firmware, every file under /system directory reside in a CRAMFS (ready only) partition.

We'll provide a read/write update with ext3/ext4 support soon thru the Kitchen.

I`m using this apk

FILE EXPERT, this is the last free version that has root explorer and mounting options (in market these options are available now, only on the paid version )

Link : FileExpertLatest.apk

I think the build.prop is similar with the one from arnova 7cg2

just instal the app, enable root exlorat, mount the system as read/write go to the build.prop file, select`it and hold the selection for 2 seconds, a menu should appear, select open with and chose a editor from there.

That will work when the tablet is loaded with custom firmware that has ext3/ext4 or any other filesystem with write access to /system partition, which isn't currently the case Wink

Yes, on the 7cG2, but other G2 devices (Rockchip platform based) are designed to have /system in CRAMFS (read only)

k few questions again :

The kitchen has check-boxes, but they don't work atm. This is probably normal since ext3 & ext4 don't work yet? ( which are part of the options)

Another question,

I used the firmware from arctools to flash the first time, which gave me a working flash player.

Then i tried again with the firmware I got from the kitchen. Worked without problems, but didn't gave me flash player. Appslib and google play both give a flash player that doesn't work on my 7bc2. Is there any explanation for that ?

(So i flashed again with arctools. So basically what's the difference between arctools and the kitchen. )

And if ext3 & ext4 is available, will it also be available through arctools ? ( so i wan't have the flash player problem, and it's just easier )
