Mr Admin
There is a upgrade from gingerbread 2.3 to Android 4.04 ICS Available to download as a rom on the yarvik website. Is it possible to use this or elements of it for the 10g2? I know next to nothing about tablets and i assume an operating system is just that and its reasonably standard across machines? If it can be put to good effect then thats fine. i will post a link so you can see. i upgraded a friends yarvik and it was good for a low budget tablet . http://www.yarvik.com/en/android404_upgrade/ It would be good if we could get the gps side of things going over the bluetooth.
Cheers

Hello Shed,
I have quickly looked at the Yarvik page and noticed the firmware files are published together with LiveSuite tool, which is used tablets based on Boxchip Allwinner architecture. Your Arnova 10 G2 uses a different processor (namely Rockchip RK2918) which is a different architecture from the Yarvik. Moreover, almost each tablet needs specific drivers or system libraries, some models have similarities and it's sometime possible to use a firmware from a device on another, but there doesn't seem to be a "twin" tablet of the Arnova 10 G2.
As a side note, I did work on building an ICS system on the Arnova 10 G2 but it's currently at a very early stage, this work is very time consuming, so I don't know if it will be ever completed.
Finally, about Bluetooth & GPS on the 10 G2, there is already something done with Gingerbread, I made a blog article about it a while ago: http://www.arctablet.com/blog/featured/bluetooth-gps-support-arnova-g2-tablets/
Cheers.

Mr Admin
Many thanks for your swift and enlightening reply I am indeed a tad more educated... cheers. I understand these things take time and hopefully we will get there. I have tried time and time again to get the Bluetooth to work, followed the video, however it just wont connect I can see other devices i.e mobile phones but it will not see the usb device( as in the parcel on the video) . As I have said before I have used 3 different USB Bluetooth adaptors, I get the Bluetooth symbol on boot up( sometimes) other times on boot there is no Bluetooth symbol or it will not turn on it just loops( bt on selection) so it would seem it automatically switches on as there is no option to turn it on and I get the listening on port 30/12 message but can never get it to actually connect or get to the point of entering the pairing code. I am pretty sure it is working all bar a setting
( USB debugging perhaps)Of course I could be totally wrong!!!I have asked if anyone else has managed to get it running but no replies as of yet.
This is my first experience of a tablet as much as I like it I do find it very frustrating at times. However I have learned how to flash the g2 as I have had to a few times. It has to be said that you need to be an octopus to get the thing communicating with the pc. 1000 apologies for wandering off thread.
cheers
