Hello, my name is ROB and this is my first post having only purchased a Archos 8 G2 this week. All my previous devices have been resistive touchscreens using a stylus and I have always used a screen protector. My new device is of course capacitive touchscreen which is meant to be operated by finger touch. Since my finger is considerably softer than a plastic stylus, do I still need to use a screen protector and if so, where can I obtain one from? Should I buy a carry case or wallet and if so again where from. Any advice or tips you think will help a new user are welcome. Thanks for any advice and I suppose I should mention that I won't be using my device outside etc but bought it to take advantage of the free wide area WiFi available at home, thanks.
If you do not have kids that are likely to get their sticky mits on your
Tablet than I would get one but beware if you get one that is
Specificaly called anti glare you will lose all the clarity on your screen.
A clear one would be better and it will enable you to clean your screen
Better without damaging it. You will need some form of protection so
Check out a specific case designed for you tablet from Amazon or Ebay
Personally I wouldn't have a screen protector. because in my experience they make the touch screen less sensitive, always look scratched in the sun/bright light, start to peel off with lots of use and they so hard to fit perfectly (always get bubbles under them), so I just go with a "shock proof" case which is soft on the inside and hard on the outside.
