It looks like Appslib, Archos proprietary Marketplace is overloaded these days and you may get a "Download, please make sure you have free space and retry" and "Download unsuccessful" errors. This seems to be a temporary error on Appslib servers and retrying to download the application should work after a few tries.

Update 2011/12/29: While the situation seems to improve, Appslib remains very unstable.

Update 2011/12/27: Archos has confirmed the problem on their Facebook page

This problem is not related to Appslib failure.

Please check our Arnova 10 G2 forum for more details on how to use the Android Market on the Arnova 10 G2.

We'd need more details to help you, how have you "downloaded google play store" and which tablet are you using ?

Cheers.

Well, I'd expect that answer, if that's the case it's probably not the best move, this "app" doing far from a proper Google Play install... Waiting for confirmation by ttprincess64, so we can give appropriate suggestions.

Oh yes, that would have been helpful wouldn't it! It is an Archos Arnova 7f G3 - used the instructions I found on here

Arnova 7f G3 custom firmware install easy procedure - and followed it as prescribed. It uploaded beautifully, and I can use installed apps that were there when I got tablet. Just can't upgrade or install new ones

Well, installing Arctools and following the procedure should give you a fully functional Google Play. If you installed "Google Play Store" app from Appslib, you can really get into problems.

I suggest that you first try to uninstall it, go to Settings / Apps / in the first tab (Downloaded) see if there's "Google Play Store" or something similar, click on it then click on Uninstall button. Restart the tablet and see if the included Google Play Store from the easy install procedure works fine.

If not, go for a factory reset: Settings / Backup & reset / Factory data rest, click the reset button.

After the tablet has been reset, restart the easy firmware update procedure. http://www.arctablet.com/blog/featured/arnova-7f-g3-ics-custom-firmware-google-play-root/

Cheers.
