Currently every time I drag an app to any of the Homescreens and reboot it resets back to default.  This happens with all screens.  Very annoying.

Also not sure if video play is reading a meta tag but its not getting correct file names for videos.

Install partition is only 500megs...Hoping we get this up to 1.5 gigs.

Netflix.  Thats all...any chance of getting this bad boy working would be great.

Please add more below!

I'm preparing a test firmware with extended space for /data, which ChildPad do you have capacitive or resistive ?

Please make sure Rockchip flashing tool is working with your ChildPad as you'll need it to flash the firmware.

Cheers.

I have resistive, any word on the issue regarding the home screen icons?

I installed via the image file for previous firmware, however I'm sure Rockchip will end up working.

Thanks!

The home screen icon stuff fix for resistive ChildPad should be released quite soon(maybe even tomorrow). For now(or people with capacitive versions for which Archos didn't release a fw which fixes that), if you can't wait, you can use the fix which I suggested you on the blog article. Just removing the default_workspace.xml from /system/.

P.S. For the increased apps partition, you will need to use RKBatchtools, easy flashing won't work.

Sweet.  I'll totally use the fix for the home screen and wait for the increased apps partition!

No worries about the RKBatchtools.  As long as theres good step by step instructions i should be fine.

Thanks!

Magicarc: I have choosen to perform the simple methode and I was already pleased with the setup and also the performance.

Is there an even better improvement when making a clean flash ? 🙂 I still have some days left to play with it before it will be given to my kids as birthday present 🙂

The simple methode should work well in most cases, otherwise we would not be offering it. 😉 RKBatchtools is needed to recover the tablet when it's bricked or to install a firmware which uses other sizes for partitions etc(for example: if you want 1GB for apps partition).

I see. It could have been that performing a clean flash would have removed some unneeded processes and could make the performance even better as I experienced with my SGS2 🙂

Maybe to add to the wish-list:

APPS2SD (Even when having the apps partition to be extended to 1Gb)

Google talk

Google +

Youtube

Titanium backup

Maybe there is a reason why Google Play store does not offer those apps by default when it captures your device model?

If you like me to help testing and titaium backup is working then I think I can convince my kids to lend me their Childpads during the night 🙂

Is the current rom supporting ADB so that I can sneak in with adb shell or adb logcat?

if you enable the option you will be able to acces adb logcat(you can enable it from the device), usualy when rom is cooked it is enabled.

Youtube and Titanium Backup are visible in Google Play to me. Google Talk and + are having issues right now, we will see whether this can be fixed or not.

Yes, but you will need our adb winusb driver from here:

Sorry I should have noted with that I'm testing the 1gb app partition.

My first flash was the simple method and worked great.  The 1gb app partition install gave me a few snags but I was able to work my way through.  Nothing to do with the ROM itself, more the steps.

Just change your Google accounts country, it should do the trick:

I have installed about 15 apps now and I am running out of space !

Will it be possible to install apps directly on the SD card ??
