Somebody please help me I feel like i'm just hitting a brick wall, I installed an update for a childpad with a capacative screen, and since then have not been able to use it, as the touchsreen control has disappeared.
I have tried using rockchip to try and flash it but my childpad will no longer install to my pc, please help me to get this working again as it is my daughters christmas present, and i feel terrible for breaking it.
Thanks for the reply, I have the AN7DG3 Childpad with the capacitive screen.
the fw i installed was kasty-arnchilpadc-40-04.zip (capacitive screen model)
It froze my screen and left my PC unable to install device drivers,
so using rockchip flashing tool for the RK2918chip hasn't worked.
I have tried to dl the img file you refer to through other members posts,
but keep getting an error message, I have also dld official fw from ARNOVA
but again because of the driver problem, I can't install that either.
So, if you could just nod to which pill I should be taking,
I will happily jump into the RABBIT HOLE.
If you had an answer to what the recovery mode screen should look like too?
It would be appreciated by me and other members, as there are conflicting views
in members posts.
The recovery is when you see on the screen a green android with an exclamation mark.
The stock recovery is not usable on none of the rockchip tablets.
Flashing mode is a state from which you can recover/flash your tablet using the stock firmware or a custom one.
To enter in the flashing mode there are 2 ways, using adb if your tablet is working, or use a combination of buttons to get in the flashing state.
In the flashing state the screen will be blank, no image, however, your device should appear in the device manager as rk30 or rk29, depending on the processor and SOC

Hi Globula_ Neagra
Thanks for the recovery mode answer.
My problem is the touch-pad no longer works, meaning I cannot slide my finger to unlock it, the display comes on showing a live wallpaper which is still operating, but that's it.
My childpad now shows up as an unknown device on my laptop, and it shows up as the same in device manager. So no joy there. I can view all the folders on the device and delete and install as I see fit, if that helps?
Thanks for your time with this.
On the Arnova ChildPad which is the same like the 7dg3
insert a paperclip in the Reset pinhole of the tablet and press the Power button

If you still can`t manage, check my signature.
I was having the same problem with the screen not responding after the upgrade and I couldn't get Rockchip to recognise my childpad.
Then I had an idea.
I started rockchip as usual then connected my turned off childpad. I then proceded to use the clip and the power button to enter into the reflash mode but i kept an eye on rockchip.
Just before the little android chap lying on his back was due to come on. I noticed that rockchip suddenly showed my device No1 with a green square around it.
I immediately pressed restore and hey presto it started working.
I now have a fully functioning childpad again
Hello, I also have the same problem on ChildPad an7dg3 table, only to have it fixed, I tried to flash the rom kasty-arnchilpadc-40-04.zip (capacitive screen model) using the tool Rockchip Batch tool, the operation is successful but the screen is not responding to commands. What should I do? sorry for English (I'm Italian) Thanks
putting the original rom (http://arnovatech.com/support/updates_fwm.html?country=it&lang=it) capacitive tablet works ....
Try another firmware ?
