So my kid dropped it and the screen cracked -------
it still works but cant register the touch on the screen.
anyone know if i can replace the screen?
Â
If not
im looking for this one
http://www.denver-electronics.com/denver-tac-7018/
it seems to be quite similar
http://www.masterpiece.dk/UploadetFiles/11174/138/DENVER_TAC-7018.pdf
But I cant find anywhere how to root and Get SU installed on it
Any suggestions with screen or that tablet?

as you can see the update steps is the same as the childpad
http://www.masterpiece.dk/UploadetFiles/11174/138/How_to_upgrade_your_DENVER_TAC-7018.pdf
I don't know the reference for the Childpad screen and touch input layer, but replacing it may not be a good operation financially vs buying a second hand tablet or a cheap new one.
The TAC 7018 you are mentioned seems rootable (the web page says "rockchip solution") so we may be able to help, but we'll need a firmware file or a firmware dump for the machine first.
Cheers.

Okay thats what i thought about the screen.
About the root - off course it would be nice to get JB or any newer version of androidÂ
but honestly i just want the root to get rid of all those ads in game.
Its for my kids and they shouldnt have all those ads.Â
Also gameCIH is usefull if i dont want to play for hours so he unlocks a new track.
I'll try and buy it and get the dump as soon as i can!!!!
TY TY TY for being willing to try!
Â
edit: Just reading through how to dump without linux system ....lots of reading, so far i come to superoneclick 2.3.3. but my antivirus tells me its unsafe...
gotta read some more then

Having problems understanding the last part of thisÂ
Â
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/featured/windows-dumping-tutorial-for-rk29-equipped-arnova-g3-models/
Adb will state probably something like this:
done
And then, you are done.Â
Where does it store the dump img file?Â
But maybe it makes sense when i get the tablet plugged in (need to buy it first)
It will dump to the path you specify, usually /sdcard, then you retrieve the file thru adb pull or get it from the storage mount on the computer.
You may be able to train on the ChildPad if you wish if the device still works, you can plug a mouse enable developer mode in the settings, disconnect the mouse and put the USB data cable to the computer.
Cheers.

That's why I mentionned to plug a mouse to enable ADB (if it's not on already), this doesn't work too ?

okay got the tab
now to make the dump if u cant use the file in google docs
I cant get this to work
C:\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools\adb devices
then press [Enter] and you should get a result similar to the following:
* daemon started successfully *
List of devices attached
0123456789ABCDEFÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â device
Â
mine just says  nothing .
which means that the adb driver isnt installed
this is what i've put in the android_winusb.inf file
Â
;;; Denver TAC-7018
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_2207&PID_0000&REV_0222&MI_01
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_2207&PID_0000&MI_01
Â
it says android adb interface after installing those drivers. so kinda stuck atm

I have created a specific thread for the TAC 7018 firmware:
Â
I hope it will work for you, as I won't have much time to fix it if needed until next week, you can still restore the stock firmware though.
