Hi there, in July this year, i bought a Childpad which suddenly displays weird colors once unlocked.
i wonder if this is a hardware fault and if anyone else also had this. i took pics to show you - you can see how the pad looks like while locked and unlocked.
Games and especially other Apps look very awful, text is sometimes difficult to read, all this wasn't there when i bought the pad.
i sent arnova a support query today, but also wanted to know if you had anything like this yet.
Before i forget, i tried to reflash the device, resetting it to factory defaults. nothing changes at all.

I dont think you have hardware problem cos tablet shows graphics right in lock-mode. It seems as if you have problems with display resolution or color-bits (8-bit instead of 16-bit or 32-bit colors)...
My advice: flash your Childpad with original firmware from Arnova site or try some of custom made ones here in Forum. If graphics are still screwed up than you have A Problem
If you have sensitive data on your tablet backup them first (many backup programs in Google store available) and then do the flash...

Hello, i sugest that you return the tablet for repairs.
In the last summer i called Arnova to get a much faster response, the problem is that i do not remeber how i managed to get a contact number.
Here are Archos contact numbers, that may be worth trying. Still I am not sure that will help as Arnova is like a sister company from Archos but may have different supports as they have separate websites...

hi there, thanks for your responses, i've already tried all capacitive roms i could find here and the only update @ arnova for this childpad. the thing is, graphics were ok at the beginning and all of a sudden they got distorted and stay this way.
i bought it off amazon, i guess i'll reclaim it there then. i'm only afraid if they say, tough luck, you flashed the rom and killed the device yourself - which i know isn't true. any advice which rom to flash on it before sending it in?

to let you all know, i've reflashed the pad with the original rom which one can download off their homepage, uploaded the original bloat on software back (chipmunk videos etc) to the device reinstalled it as if it was a new device and guess what?
nothing. precisely, as for arnova isn't answering any of my emails i sent them, i really disappointed. i called up amazon last night and they offered me a full refund incl free shipping in.
thats it, i tonight after work, i'm going make it postage ready and send it back tomorrow. as soon as i'll get my money back, i'll invest 20€ more and get my stepdaughter of the better acer b1 devices.
well then, i would still have a neat brand new, 5 months old silikon cover in green for the childpad.
location is Germany, if anyone interested to make a deal, send me a note. i'm through with arnova.
years ago i had an mp3 player from archos, the multimedia player 20 with harddrive. that was not bad, but died quickly too. bad luck i would say.
cheers
