What are the 1) external 2) internal differences between the childpad & the 7d g3?
Background: I need a device for a class I'm going to do, and my plan was to buy a Childpad & install the 7d G3 "grown up" firmware for the duration. Afterwards, if I get bored with it or I buy a more advanced one I can restore it & give it to my son (he's nearly 5).
Is this feasible, and has anyone here done it? And is the Childpad physically tougher, or just a different color? (if not, I might as well get the regular model, I presume?)
From what I know there shouldn't be important internal differences between the original ChildPad and Arnova 7d G3. Still, based on recent users feedback in our forum it seems the new ChildPad selling now have some hardware differences, some WIFI related, others touch screen related.
I think the original 7d G3 firmware hasn't evolved while there have been some updates on the ChildPad, so it may be better to use a ChildPad firmware in any case. The child related stuff can be removed I believe.
I can't say much about the internal differences not having a device myself. You can refer to our ChildPad review for more details on how it looks.
