sorry jeffless bone but can you post the file and program and maybe a method you used my tablet is frozen like yours was. and what version of windows are you using.Â
hello nunoit,
you need to download the software given by LOT75
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/wp-content/forum-file-uploads/lot75/2014/10/CHILDPAD-FIRMWARE.rar
extract the .rar file and start the mptool.exe on your pc.
disconnect the tablet from the pc, press reset to turn it off, then press and hold the internal button of the tablet and connect it to your pc. mptool should now recognize your childpad and be ready to flash it.
if not, there's something wrong. make sure your usb connection is working as you said something about "resoldered it"
BEFORE you flash your tablet i would recommend that you make a backup of the firmware thats on it, especially if it is the stock one because this could help us to recover our tablet.
my device is AN7DG3C, i used pc with Win 7 64 bit
The following users say thank you to Jeffless Bone for this useful post:

nunoit any luck?
jeffless, any additional instructions on how to use MPTOOL, got it to backup the childpad but can't figure out how to flash the img files with MPTool.
edit :- worked it out, pity the firmware is for the B not the C, screen is 1cm to the left and inverted, off to find the right rom and flash it, hate getting in and out of vdfu mode though.

Thanx for all this!
After a helluva lot of reading, trying things out (sometimes literally all night long, just to make some little face smile again when he sees the tablet fully finctioning!), here are some of the things I have found...
Search app/function works ONLINE(!) and one can get Aptoid app with it (never mind the Google's Play Store!!!), then from it or online directly with a browser one gets System Info Droid app and through it one can discover properly which HW etc. one has... Vimicro in my case, the same as the starter of this thread (thanx a bunch for sharing your info, m8! APPRECIATED!!!)!
No wonder Rockhip stuff didn't work (boy, have I read a million pages, downloaded inordinate amount of stuff, tried even more, namely some many times and so on and so forth...)... And despite the fact that mine is the same as OP's... I still couldn't get it to excite the tool to go green (the version included in the FW above is 1.1.0 and the starter of this thread posted images of 1.2.0 - does it make a difference?) or root it (no Mandarin knowledge, so no way to know what the darn thing (KingRoot) is telling me - but there is no confirmation of the device having been rooted, sadly...
Maybe it's all for the best: my kid is only 5 years young and a rooted device in his jolly hands might be a bad thing; then, if there is no better community written ROM than stock FW, and then if - on top of that! - there is no stock FW to be had "formally", better I didn't root it and better I didn't flash the device with something that would be below par!
By the way, appslib doesn't get you Play Store on this one (looks like it's directed more to new, "8" series stuff, in the latest 1.80 version but even the older versions do not work at my end!)... Many cr@ppy things, from forcing one to register on the "support" website, to forcing one to immediately connect one's PayPal account and credit card with the account, before one can see properly if it's safe or of it's worth it and without registering - no download of any kind. Sad!!! I mean, really mean, petty and truly sad!!!
Oh, any app in it can't play MP4 file with DTS (VLC is stuttering, MX Player has NO sound and so forth...), mounting Micro SD card is slow, so problems with whatever is on it and so on and so on and oooonnn...
I am really disappointed by how Arnova are dealing with these issues...
They were asked to provide more detailed info re. their products (a systematic chart, as it were but you're asking the French to do it, m8 - not the Germans or Swedes, so hopeless from the start...), as they are wildly varied, even under very similar name/model - but oh no...
Then, we need stock FW out there for ALL of them but oh no...
Instructions are full of holes and simply utterly inadequate...
And so on and so on... Horrible experience, all in all!!!
Pass on any of "their" new HW!!!
With such "support"...
Thanx again!!!
