i've a huge doubt. When i received my child pad last week, i did not know that there are two kind of device.
So i was very surprised by the bad maniability of the device, thinking all device should be capacitive. No multitouch, must push insistently on the screen for have a gesture recognition : with more informations, i deduce that my device was a resistive one.
i apply the custom rom http://www.arctablet.com/assets/firmware/ArnovaChildPad/kasty-arnchilpadr-40-041.zip and for the moment, it's working (despite maybe a problem of electric charging, i try with the official adaptator).
(also, the link for resistive firmware on the tutorial http://www.arctablet.com/blog/featured/arnova-childpad-custom-firmware-google-play-root/#arnova_childpad_custom_firmware_download was wrong)
BUT, when i log on the support page for my device, on Arnova website, this one tell me that my device should be :
Product: ARNOVA ChildPad Alvin Capacitive - 4 GB
So, how to recognize the true type of my device ?
For guys with capacitive model, yours has difficulties to accept gesture commands ?
I have updated the broken link to latest firmware version for the resistive model: kasty-arnchilpadr-40-041.zip
You can verify if it's capacitive or resistive by touching and moving an object like a pen on your screen, if it gets input it's a resistive screen.
