Greetings. I am experiencing some problems with the firmware update. I put the Childpad into recovery mode (Android mascot lying on his back with a red ! Triangle over his open belly). When I plug it in via USB the device gets recognized as "AN7DG3-CP" but I am unable to install the rockchip driver. Windows won't accept the driver from the driver folder. I tried it on two different system under Win7 64-bit and Windows Vista 32-bit. I tried the tips under troubleshooting with the same result - any hint?

I just bought 2 of these ChildPads and got a little worried about the sound volume when playing a video/movie.
If i run an application the volume is not loud, but it is sufficient. However, when i'm playing a video there is almost no sound coming out of the speaker.
When i plug in an earset it not loud, but sufficient again.
I guess (as i read earlier in another thread) this has nothing to do with the speaker, but rather with the decoding that's used.
Does this firmware fix this also, or is this something u guys are working on by any chance?
As far as volume goes you are correct
however if you use ie. mx video player and use software audio
you are able to double the output of the audio
and also you are able to lock the screen so the kids cant get out of the movie they are watching
try the free version of mx player , you wont regret it.

Hi, i think i managed to install the new firmware... so far so good.
However, the child pad will not show anymore in the explorer (so i am not able to put the files and apps back that i have backed up).
I still can see the device in the control panel, it's name AN7DG3-CP, but it states "device driver not installed".
Did i do something wrong??
Thanks for your help
I got the same issue and tried your usb debugging/adb driver option, but this did not work.
Also, there is no option to change the storage option from MTP to mass storage .
Any more idea's?
Well, it works for me with adb, MTP and mass storage. Just follow the following steps:
- turn off usb debugging.
- go to storage settings
- there you need to click on more options (the three blocks in right upper corner), select usb computer connection
- select mass storage
- connect the tablet to your computer and click "turn on usb storage" when the Android 2.3 a-like screen will turn up on the tablet(takes half a second on mine)
Unfortunatly i only get 3 options: VPN, Portable hotspot and Mobile networks
Are you working with the Child pad (capitative) also or with another pad?
" VPN, Portable hotspot and Mobile networks" options aren't from the Storage menu, make sure you are in the right place, as exelletor mentioned.
