The Archos 97 Xenon, the second tablet from the Elements line of products does not seem to be very popular, not much has been said on this 3G tablet since it has been released a few weeks ago. Thanks to the FCC we now have a few pictures of the tablet internals to learn more details about the tablet specifications.
Inside the Archos 97 Xenon
The following pictures show somes details about the Archos 97 Xenon chipset:
Qualcomm PM8058: power management IC
TriQuint TQM7M5013: Quad-Band GSM / GPRS / EDGE-Linear Power Amplifier Module made for use with Qualcomm QTR/RTR8600 WEDGE solutions
Atheros AR6003: Single-chip 802.11b/g/n WiFi
Qualcomm QTR8200: RF Transceiver
The 97 Xenon seems to be sourced from Foxda manufacturer in China, with model Foxda 8933.
The tablet system on a chip (SoC) on this machine is described as a Qualcomm Snapdragon running at 1.4 GHz, probably a processor from the Snapdragon S2 family such as the MSM8255 or similar (MSM7230, MSM7630, APQ8055, MSM8655)
Battery
The FCC page listing the equipment mentions a 3.7 V, 3 000 mAh battery, which we can see in the internals pictures below. There seem to be a second battery on the picture, which would be quite necessary to give a decent battery life due to the IPS screen and the 3G components on this tablet.
Archos 97 Xenon specifications
Our opinion
Specifications wise, the Xenon appears to be quite limited, with 512 Mb of memory and a relatively old processor. The Archos 97 Xenon is available on…

it a msm8255 at 1.4 ghz
the wifi chipset is the same, it is an atheros 6003
the good news will be, that we can root it fast
The CPU being an MSM8255 is highly possible, but I'll leave it as a supposition until we have a 100% proof that's the case.
Great news for the root possibility

I don`t know if you still have the screens from the 7C G3 , but if you still have them and compare the parts of the tablet, except the emmc and the memory, nothing has changed, even the hdmi/sim card/sd card slots remained the same on the soc.
The 7C G3 is able to do phone calls, so i suspect that also this one should, you have the right stuff .
