I have never heard of changing MAC addresses, this should normally not happen in the system.
I have few questions below to better understand what is happening...
Do you get a new address at each reboot or can you see a kind of pattern where the same MAC comes back after a few reboots ? Are the addresses random, do they keep the same vendor ID part (six first digits) ? normally it should be 00:16:DC for ARCHOS according to that page
Do you have a sticker on the tablet or on the product packaging that mentions the WiFI MAC address ? Is that an address value that you sometime get after a reboot ?

Actually it seems the MAC address changes when I shut down and restart the tablet (also when the battery is down, which is the same scenario)
You're right, the 6 first digits remain the same, but are not these you quote. Mine starts with 00:08:22.
There is no sticker or anything on the package or device mentioning the MAC address.
