I am with this ROM almost 2 weeks I see no problem with it.
I think just need an improvement in 3d games.
There is any plane for update to 4.1.2?
If it possible to able a BT will be nice.
Some one know why my arches show me just 700 mb of ram rather than 1g...???

As for Android 4.1.x there is an Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for the Arnova 9 G3 which has similar hardware, you can try it, see in the Arnova 9 G3 forum. Still it's a test firmware that was some limitations, with the battery gauge not working and the camera is partly broken... I don't know how it will behave with the 97 Carbon, but that's probably worth trying.

Cheers.

Seems to be more difficult for me to add smiley’s on the forum than to flash the tablet. Sorry for that bad presentation of my previous message. Please delete it. Here is a better version :

Hi,

This is just to inform who may be interested that I just finish flashing successfully my Carbon 97 tablet with Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bits,  and that works at the first trial.

Only 2 little issues :

-          no 64bits driver found in the “Rockchip_Batch_Tool_v1.5.zip” but it works with those found in “RK_Android_Tool_v1.29.zip”

-          how to enter the flash mode of the Carbon 97 was not clearly explain for/understood by me ==> I did push on HOME button (with the tablet ON seems not to be a problem) then push RESET, release RESET and finally release HOME

Tablet takes about 5 minutes to initialize and show the set up wizard

Now root access is OK as well as the 2GB for Applications (deduced from the 16GB of SDCard )

Everything seems OK and I will now reinstall my previous Apps and keep you inform of the behaviour of ‘’updated firmware”

Many thanks to all the team working to give us more freedom on our devices

I have the same problem with the battery showing 100% and then just turning off. Is there or will there be a fix for that? Thanks.

It is not a big problem, but not knowing how much of battery is left results in my tablet turning off in the most inconvenient time, also after turning off the clock shows 1pm. I would like to know if there would be a fix for this would I have to reinstall the firmware or would it be a simpler fix?

Working pretty well now on my 9 G3, after a few unsettling freezes and resets.  However, the battery indicator always showing 100% is becoming a real pain. Any chance of this being fixed, or is it a case of "be happy with the other improvements or go back to the earlier G3 firmware"?

Hi everyone, being the owner of an Archos 97 Carbon i was very interested in the custom firmware especially with the app storage being upped to 2gb.

After reading the instructions over and over and over I decided to take the plunge and give the firmware a try...........and it works!

There were a couple of hiccups (getting the tablet into flash mode for a start) and not detecting the drivers (windows 7 32 bit.) But after a bit of faffing it all began to work.

One thing I would say about the instructions for flash mode that didn't seem clear (unless I was reading it wrong) is that when you do the' reset holding a button routine' keep hold of the particular button (for 97 Carbon its the home button) after releasing the reset until you have connected the tablet to the PC.

I was trying this numerous times before I found the instructions for another tablet and tried it for the Carbon, hey presto it worked! The driver thing was easy enough, just follow the instructions with the Rockchip installation for finding the correct drivers.

Anyheeew, have installed a couple of apps and everything seems to be rocking and rolling. There doesn't appear to be an issue with the battery indicator (its just dropped to 99% after a bit of use.)

I will start to install all my usual apps and see how it goes. One thing that I will try to get around next is the rather annoying 'device not compatible' error on google play!

Any ideas?????

well, if you are in to explore more with your device, the first step in geting more apps in market is by editing the build.prop, have some google search about it, and what are the risks using it.
