Best regards.
Don't worry, this should be fixable.
As I already commented in the Blog article, you should try the Rockchip flasher to restore the default firmware

Is your tablet in flashing mode ?
Check also this

Hi,
Thanks for the assistance.
Yes it’s in flasing mode, that’s not the problem. When I try to install the driver by pointing to the inf file get the message ‘The INF file you selected does not support this method of installation’. When I connect the Archos and connect in flasing mode (right button plus power button) and try to update the driver for the found ‘Unknown device’ I get the message ‘Windows could not find driver software for your device’ when I point to the folder with the driver.
Regards

I think that you are trying with the wrong drivers (you are using the ADB ones)
In flashing mode, there is NO IMAGE on the screen.
The drivers are in the Rockchip Batch Tool
Rockchip_Batch_Tool_v1.5\RockusbDriver\amd64\win7

Wow!!! Thanks everybody, my eReader is working again.
Still some questions,
- Where can I find a download from Rockchip with the drivers. I think I’m using the wrong download s, because none of them contain a folder with the drivers. For now I’m using the old virtual, but this is not really handy.
- Are there images for de Archos 7 0b eReader with a newer version of android. All the problem started when I tried to upgrade the eReader so my little son could use spelling apps. He wants me to buy a iPad, but if the spelling apps can run on the eReader I would be happy.
I think I can use spelling apps in English myself, but for my son they are in the Dutch language.
Regards

http://www.arctablet.com/blog/featured/flashing-your-rockchip-rk3188-based-tablet-with-rockchip-batch-tool-v1-6/
This is the latest flashsing tool with the drivers updated.
Admin will probably answer you to the second point, as I don`t know much about the 70B Reader.
I don't know of any Android update for this device, I believe it hasn't evolved from Android 2.x
We had a custom firmware for the ARCHOS 70b eReader with Android Market (now Google Play Store) but a few users faced some issues and we preferred to remove the firmware.
If you really need a custom firmware, I'm pretty sure there are some links to other websites in our forum section.
Cheers.

Hello! Sorry to rez an ancient topic, but I was given an ancient tablet that I tried to make more usable in the modern world...and successfully made a brick! I am having the exact same problem as OP, with the exact same beginning. The train wrecks here: I cannot get into reset mode, nor can I find drivers anywhere for my system (I use Fedora 18). I know I'm holding the buttons down, but nothing happens!
Please help me, preferably in small words for a person who really doesn't have the technical know how to have tried any of this.
Thanks in advance!
