Just got my Diamond last week. The unit has been running really slow, so I've been optimizing my apps. I found a very strange thing while doing this. The 50 Diamond is supposed to come with 2GB Ram, but when I look a resource monitor, it only reports .9Gb as being available for apps. Is this normal?
Could you be more specific when describing your device being slow ? Does that relate to specific apps or is it a general situation ?
Does it happen right after boot or after some time ? Do you have special apps running in background ?
As for the free RAM left, the number you report do not look too low: some of the 2 GB memory on the phone is taken by the system and the running apps and a 0.7 to 0.9 GB free look quite normal to me.

It must have been something specific. I did a hard reset and took my time adding back some apps. Only 1 widget and no other mods. The phone is more reactive than it had been. Memory usage is at 677Mb out of 900Mb.
While it's a relief to know that there is no actual hardware problem, I'm dismayed to find out that no one has brought the hardware manufacturers to task on lying to their customers. On a computer, if I have 16GB RAM, the OS tells me I have 16GB of RAM - regardless if the OS uses all or none of it. On my phone, if I have 2GB RAM, I expect the OS to tell me I have 2GB RAM regardless of how it is used. Why is more than half of the RAM on my phone hidden from view? I'd like to know.
