I have updated to 4.1.4 and received the Error Message about Archos Music not working. But I now have a different, more worrying, problem...
Having rebooted the device now my WiFi has stopped working all the connections are "not in range" even though they are (one WiFi router is 2 metres from the device as I speak as I'm connected to it via this computer).
I've tried rebooting; turning the WiFi off and on; turning the WiFi off waiting 30 minutes then turning it on; a hard reset (pressing the on/off button for 10 secs); other WiFi "hotspots" but all are "not in range".
Many thanks in advance for advice.
Can you try resetting your device ?
Menu should be: Settings / Backup & Reset / Factory data reset

You should be able to save many things if you have the tablet back-ed up with the google account.
Beside that there is no other option.
I have the Archos 97 XS.
I too have the same problem with wifi after updating to 4.1.4
When I try to connect, it varies between 'not in range', seeing it but not attempting to connect, or continuously 'connecting' but nothing happens!
I emailed Archos support and their advice was to reinstall the update, which I have done several times, but the problem still persists.
I have discovered that if I continuously try to connect the tablet to wifi, it will eventually connect after about 30 attempts, but that is not ideal and very frustrating!
It seems be a problem with the firmware - hopefully they will issue a corrected version soon!
